On his birthday....Peace Be Upon Him.

In Ibn Sa'd's "al-Tabaqat al-Kabir" book, there are numerous verbal descriptions of Sayedna Muhammad. One description sourced to Ali ibn Abi Talib is as follows:
May Allah bless him, is neither too short nor too tall. His hairs are neither curly nor straight, but a mixture of the two. He is a man of black hair and large skull. His complexion has a tinge of redness. His shoulder bones are broad and his palms and feet are fleshy. He has long al-masrubah which means hair growing from neck to navel. He is of long eye-lashes, close eye-brows, smooth and shining fore-head and long space between two shoulders. When he walks he walks inclining as if coming down from a height. I never saw a man like him before him or after him.
Salla Allah 3alyh wa Salam.

A More Objective "Jeddal" about electing "Jammal"!

Would you vote for Gamal Mubarak if he runs for presidency?

Pros:
- Well educated.
- Exposed to the international community.
- Smart, and pro-development.
- Young (for a change).

Cons:
- Doesn't know the majority of Egyptians (like most of us the upper class guys).
- Weak Speaker (too rigid).
- Obliged to inherit a lot of cons and keep it.
- Will sell the country (aw eli fadel men el country).

Let me hear your opinion, and if any more pros and cons.

FUN:::Tribute to SHAKIRA in Cairo!

Shakira, Shakira
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man want to speak Spanish,
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
Shakira, Shakira

Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body

And I'm on tonight
You know my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection
-
Hey Girl, I can see your body moving
And it's driving me crazy
And I didn't have the slightest idea
Until I saw you dancing
-
And when you walk up on the dance floor
Nobody cannot ignore the way you move your body, girl
And everything so unexpected - the way you right and left it
So you can keep on shaking it
---
She is singing as we speak ;)
A very INNOCENT question, does the fact of Shakira singing in Cairo has any relation with the celebration of the "Constitutional Amendment" announced today?!

The Arab Summit....Is it the right thing at the right time?

Everytime there is an Arab summit, I feel excited about the fact that we are already meeting together and may be agreeing -for a change- about a unified point of view or notion. But everytime as an Arab citizen (if this word exists) I get disappointed coz for the last 20 years (since i started understanding politics) the same scenario happens...some repeated sometime aggressive words, some fighting, pictures, food, taking planes back home....and nothing changes...

I am pro Arab unity, and I dream to walk through the Arab countries without restrictions (as it was less than 100 years ago), but I now see the Arab summit a right thing but done at the wrong time coz the culture dominating this generation of Arab rulers and the circumstances makes the summit a waste of money and time that should rather be spent on the development or solving problems of their countries..

Anyway, I will be really happy if the coming summit tomorrow in Saudi Arabia comes up with successful PRACTICAL resolutions...who knows?!

I support the Pay Forward Campaign (el PFC)!

I have seen part of the great movie again yesterday- slept while watching- and I said to myself, I will have a post in the morning to ask people to start this campaign. However, it seems that the concept has tempted Bo2bo2 too, so he post it. Anyway, it is not important who is posting first, the important thing is to adopt this concept.

The original concept is to pay forward something big to 3 different people that you don't know. I'd say let us start with 2 people only to make it easier, even 1 but let's start GIVING.

Amir -a blogger 2adeem :)- has added a html code to add to your site or blog if you are supporting this. http://bo2bo2.blogspot.com/2007/03/pay-it-forward-like-movie.html

Comments are open here and at Bo2Bo2 land to share thoughts or even experiences for the ones who already started.

P.S> as we succeeded togther in the PDC before let's succeed in the PFC :)

  • Mubarak amends article 76 on 26/2/2005.

  • Article 76 Referendum (estefta2) on 26/5/2005.

  • Mubarak announces the change in 34 articles on 26/11/2006.

  • New Articles Referendum on 26/3/2005 (was on 4/4 and they changed it to be on the 26th, is it a co-incidence?!)

Contraditions in Our Lives!! -- Part I

Actually that is the title of a long article I have written in 2005. But when I saw this picture, taken in Lebanon during summer 2006, I remembered the famous quote: "1 picture is better than 1000 words", isn't it?

Manage Your Stress....Manage Your Life!

Since I am starting a new stress management training this week, I thought of sharing these Internet tips with you.

1. For every one hour of work, take a five minute break and stretch, walk, or meditate. With just a few minutes of relaxation (or doing something other than work), you'll increase your physical activity as well as productivity and feel better throughout the day.

2.Spend 20 minutes a day doing something that is relaxing and not work related. Try taking a walk, stretching, reading a book, or doing yoga. These activities can help you keep your energy level up and feel better longer than eating a candy bar, drinking a soda, or eating a bag of chips.

3. If you are experiencing mild depression or anxiety, aerobic workouts such as walking or jogging can significantly improve your mood. Non-aerobic exercise, like weight lifting, can also boost your spirits, improve sleep and appetite, reduce irritability and anger and produce feelings of mastery and accomplishment. Be sure to check with your health care professional before you start any new exercise program.

4. Give volunteer work a try. It's a great way to take your mind off your own troubles and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you volunteer your time and energy to a good cause.

5. Make sure to plan something rewarding for the end of your hectic day, even if it as simple as a relaxing bath or a few minutes with a good book. Put off housekeeping, work, or family issues for a short period prior to bedtime and permit yourself to completely relax. Do not spend this time preparing tomorrow's schedule or doing chores you weren't able to get around to during the day. Keep in mind that you need time to revive and energize yourself. By doing this you'll be much more prepared to handle another stressful day.

6. Give yourself plenty of time to get to where you are going. Try bringing a book or magazine with you when you may have to pass time while waiting for an appointment or meeting.

7. Make today your focal point. You can't change yesterday, and you need not worry about tomorrow's challenges. Also, don't be concerned about what may never happen again.

8. Manage your time more effectively. Make an achievable "to do" list, and set priorities. Break tasks into smaller-sized chunks. Delegate as much as you possibly can. Remember that tomorrow is another day-and come to terms with the fact that you may not get everything done today.

PERSONAL:::How did she lose me in 10 weeks?

Hmmmmm....

I don't like to talk much about my personal life, but wanted to share an ex-failure with you. May be you can tell me why coz till today I don't know!!

It started smooth and nice, then after 4 weeks of fun, we had 10 weeks of madness:

- Lying: She wasn't honest about what her intentions were.
- Mixed Signals: She was intending to give me mixed signals of what am I to her.
- Rude: In Public & Private. When I get flowers, she asks WHY, instead of Thanks!

P.S. This is not about Y.I., I haven't met a girl like her till now ;)

Naguib Sawiris......An Egyptian Businessman Role Model.

I consider him the best business man in Egypt.
1. He knows when to buy, when to operate, and when to sell.
2.He is clear about how much does he own, and proud of it.
3.His ambition is endless, doesn't have boundaries, and he knows how to make his dreams come true.
Do you agree, or have something else to say?

PERSONAL::: To Mama...on Mothers' day :)

How much I love you I can't say:
It's more than words can hold.
You're all at once my rich, red clay,
My potter and my mold.

Yours the words that shaped my voice,
The spirit within mine.
Yours the will that shaped my choice,
My fortune, and my sign.

How lucky I was to have had you
At the core of me!
Wise and good, you always knew
Just what I could be.

And so I came to be someone
Whom I could be proud of.
For this I give my swollen sum
Of gratitude and love.

Does Sexual Orientation Break Friendships?!

Back Again to Taboo topics!

While my dear friend Tamer Mokhtar (whom I always have long interesting discussions about our contradicting views) and I were discussing freedom of choice and accepting differences, a topic came along through a question from another friend saying: "What if you found out that your best or close friend has a different sexual orientation?" There were 2 opinions that dominated the rest of discussion:

1. She/He will continue to be my friend as long as she/he won't impose her/his thoughts, she/he may not be my best friend but will definitely be my friend..coz the decision of being friends was built on mutual respect, interests,..etc and not sex.
2. She/He will be out of my life and dictionary because knowing someone like that will affect me and make me feel/look bad & uncomfortable.

I will not say who's the owner of each opinion (the people who know me will know which opinion i support), but I am really wondering what do others think about that...i.e. What would you do if you found out that your friend is lesbian or gay?
