Although Michael Jackson hasn't been around for almost a decade, but I think he has contributed one way or another in shaping part of the artistic personality of my generation (1970s). The word pop-music is directly linked to MJ in my mind. I think MJ in western music, and Amr Diab in arabic music were the music icons of our generation.
This guy has lead a misrable life, specially the last 10 years. I don't know why did I feel that, but I felt "makbos" when I heared the news, but when I started reading the readers comments in the the Arab website, I was furious! People are soooo shallow and mainly fighting if he will go to hell or heaven as if they have "tawkeel" from God to decide about that.
If you liked MJ, just feel sorry and keep his songs; if you don't then just ignore the whole thing, but please don't play "God"... listen to his song "Allah Rahim"!
I realized that all the precautions to avoid Swine Flu are simply about "BEING CLEAN" and I also realized that the danger in Egypt is not because of the flu itself as much as not having the "being clean" culture.. I kept on thinking and I wondered Why aren't the majority of the Egyptian people in the 21st century clean? what have led to this? If the religions tell us to be clean, and all creatures care about being clean, so why aren't we? why are many of us:
even pissing in streets?
not washing hands?
not washing teeth even once per day?
not showering every day?
not cleaning after us in public toilets?
smelling awful? and many other examples..
I am not talking about everyone but in 3 non-successive days I counted the people I saw and this was the result:
Day 1: have seen/met 76 .... 21 clean, 55 doing one or more of the above.
Day 2: have seen/met 53 .... 23 clean, 40 doing one or more of the above.
Day 3 (weekend): have seen/met 35 .. 17 clean, 18 doing one or more of the above.
Have a deep look on the below information, and let me know what do you think...
What does it tell you about Egyptians in the 21st century?

This is a beautiful video about how love can change our lives even through simple signs. I think TRUE love is a filter that holds back all the negative feelings and only passes the beautiful side of life.
P.S> Romantic People will cry from the overwhelming passion.
I am writing this while Obama is finishing his speech. I have to admit that the speech is integrated, impressive, & inclusive.
I am glad that I witnessed such historical moment, and I do really thank Obama for this great overwhelming speech ... However, it is now Time for Action from both US & Muslims, or else .. kol speech wentom taybeen!
Take a look at this video produced as a wake-up call to save the west from the expected domination of Islam in less than a generation. My questions is: Do we measure the success of Islam in the number of its followers or the quality of life we produce to the world?
If we - muslims- became the largest religion in the world by 2015 as expected, is this a good or bad?! I guess the answer depends on what these new muslims have to say to the world. If it is peace and accepting others then that is good news, but if it is terrorism and Qaida-like muslims, then that is terrible news. I hope that we can have a role in putting things in the right place and let the world know the true meaning of Islam, and they took the first step... Obama's visit next Thursday, but that is another talk...
