705) Bety we Bey2oul Betoh !!

I cant believe it has been already 20 years for the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait. I remember it very well, I was 15 years old then but was interested in politics. I do consider the 2nd of August 90 along with the 5th of June 76 the two main dates that contribute to the fall of the Arabs in contemporary history.

I categorize them with dates like the ivasion of Baghada by Mongols in the 13th century or the fall of the Anadlus in the 15th century...

Kuwait had heavily funded the 8-year-long Iraqi war against Iran. By the time the war ended, Iraq was not in a financial position to repay the $14 billion it borrowed from Kuwait to finance its war. Iraq argued that the war had prevented the rise of Iranian influence in the Arab World. However, Kuwait's reluctance to pardon the debt created strains in the relationship between the two Arab countries. During late 1989, several official meetings were held between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi leaders but they were unable to break the deadlock between the two.

Such day really brings bad memories, and it was a start of 10 years of me doughting the ideology of having one Arab World that ended up by forgetting about completely by year 2001.

548) Mubarak & the Summit !

I am wondering what is right for Mubarak to boycott the Doha summit earlier this week?

On one hand, Qatar is misbehaving and jumping over files being handled by Egypt, and they need a statement that shows them this is not right, but on the other hand, the summit is not about Qatar, but about the Arab world and its challenges ... I personally see that Mubarak should have gone and delivered a very strong and assertive speech, and make use of "his experience" with Arabs to have better outcome of the "reconciliation summit!!"....  wala eih?

384) Moh@lyics Weekly - Eps 9!

Egypt - Argentina: The weird thing is that when we started to master the field, we were beaten! anyway, it was a good match but we could have done better.

Arab Summit: Doest worth wasting my time and commenting!

6 April: I really hope that people can make a difference on April 6th and it won't be another strike that is just covered by the opposition newspapers then kol wa7ed yerawa7 beto. The great thing will be if we DON'T BUY ANYTHING on that day even food, gas,..etc. to make a point, but not going to work doesn't make sense, I think we should go to work but have any obvious sign of strike (like Japanese people do). Again the difference will be through not buying anything.

368) M.o.h.@.l.y.i.c.s Weekly! (Eps. 4)

Gawaz bekarar gamaheery: Last week I was in an outing with some friends and their families, and suddenly I found ALL the subgroups gathering around 1 topic; my marriage! I am one of only 2 singles in the group and it seems that this annoys the married couples (men envy me, and women want to see all men married....), so they started talking and talking, talking, and talking...and every one is offering, and offering, specially that - as they say- you are 3arees kewayes we matetsabsh!! At this point I decieded to tell them that next time, I will come with 2 wives in-shaa-Allah, at this point all the women went shhhhhhhh, and all the men were sneakly smiling ;)

El Dameer El Arabi: Yanhar Nakad morakaz! heya na2sa, makefaya nasharat el akhbar! Begad I felt as if I watching the news accompanied by sound track! Anyway, if it was me, i would have just gathered all the stars, and said the main chorus word "Matat 2olob el Nas, Matat feena el Nakhwa, Yemken Neseena fe yom en el 3arab Ekhwa" in a 1 min message for the Arab leaders in the Arab summit!

Hadary 2: Hady ra7, Hadary geh, 7adary 3aleeh el 3awad. Feeh fel donya ghabaa aktar men keda! ya3nee 10 days ago he was one of the top people in the Egyptian football, now he will be punished by Ahly, and will have a problem in FIFA because running again but this time to Ahly. Tab kan lazmeto eih men el 2awel. Tab3an el press hatet7efna with another week of "3awdet El Hadary" after part 1 "Horob El Hadary", I just hope it ends here before it becomes another Die Hard or Rambo!

290) The Bright Side of Egypt - Part I

I was, am, and will be optimistic about the future of this country. I will keep on giving my thought, time, and effort for taking part in its positive change. For those who still have hope and working or even supporting us, I am dedicating a group of posts "The Bright Side of Egypt" about young Egyptians some of them are my friends, or I know personally, or I dont know at all. What is important is that we all share the same vision of developing this country and the whole Arab and Muslim communities in-shaa Allah...

One day, when everyone can clearly see the light, you will say, these people weren't kidding, they really believed in their duty as Egyptians and as Muslims to do a positive change even -as i always say- if we didn't see it in our life time.

I am listing the people -including myself- I know personally or I have worked with, who gave, and still giving a lot of their time and effort to make our community a better place in donya and even akhra. I am sure that there are 100s of us everywhere and some day - not far- we will make the difference.

266) Arabs Months ... Unite!!

The west has the right to consider us idiots as we cannot agree on the start of Ramadan and hence Qadr night after 1428 years!!!

El Ra7ma, there are very accurate mathematical and astronomical sciences that can calcuate exactly when we start and end instaed of the confusion that happenes every year.

P.S> Saudi Arabia decided to see the Crescent on the 28th instead of the 29th...why? coz the "dought that they have seen Sha3ban one right 28 days ago!!!"

Ya Muslmeen el Ra7ma!

196) MAID in Egypt!!

This title is the best comment I have seen (by Sherif El Alfi on 4/6) regarding the issue of sending Egyptian maids to work in Saudi Arabia to replace the Asian ones!

Anyway, I say 3azeema ya Masr, when I was kid, we used to send Teachers (knowledge), Doctors (health), and Engineers (development). Now we are sending them Maids (sanity), and very soon prostitutes (pleasure)...although i have doughts that "sanity" MAY turn into "pleasure" !

191) Mesh "Na2sa" kalam 3al "Naksa"!

Today marks 40 years since Nakset June 1967. All of our generation wasn't born at that time, and even our parents were in High school or College. However, till now we consider it the reason of what Egypt is passing through till now in spite of the following:

1. We have been living in peace since 28 years out of the 40!
2. Japan & Germany had a Waska in 1945, and 40 years later -1985- they were flying high.
3. The real Naksa of our generation was on August 2nd (Iraqi invasion).

I believe that we talk tooooo much about is it naksa or hazima, who is responsible for it...etc and forget that the real Naksa is what we are passing through now -corruption, ignorance, illness, ..etc- and if we didn't stop talking and start doing soon, we will be heading fast into another Moseeba not only Naksa!

The Arab Summit....Is it the right thing at the right time?

Everytime there is an Arab summit, I feel excited about the fact that we are already meeting together and may be agreeing -for a change- about a unified point of view or notion. But everytime as an Arab citizen (if this word exists) I get disappointed coz for the last 20 years (since i started understanding politics) the same scenario happens...some repeated sometime aggressive words, some fighting, pictures, food, taking planes back home....and nothing changes...

I am pro Arab unity, and I dream to walk through the Arab countries without restrictions (as it was less than 100 years ago), but I now see the Arab summit a right thing but done at the wrong time coz the culture dominating this generation of Arab rulers and the circumstances makes the summit a waste of money and time that should rather be spent on the development or solving problems of their countries..

Anyway, I will be really happy if the coming summit tomorrow in Saudi Arabia comes up with successful PRACTICAL resolutions...who knows?!
