537) The Curious Case of Life!

Couple of weeks ago I have watched the Curious Case of Benjamin Button that won 3 Oscars, and was nominated for 13 (Brad Pitt should have won the Acting Award). It is really one of the most beautiful and meaningful films I have seen in the 21st century.

Other than the great production in all aspects (acting, directing, make-up,..etc), the most important is the hidden question the author is asking; would it have been better to life our lives in reverse order, where we grow younger instead of growing older? If we were born old, then become younger every year, would life have been better? This is the real morale about the movie that was written 90 years ago!

My personal opinion is that it doesn't not the matter which direction is our life heading as much as we are making the best out of what we have. I guess the film supported that as well where it highlighted that the best part of our lives when wisdom meets action; i.e. in 30s & 40s, so let's make the best out of it.
What about you?

Hi Mohaly
I agree with your opinion as it isn't important the direction as soon as we can achieve our goals, it isn't important where to start from it's important to start....

It needs a lot of thinking to answer such philosophic question, but I am sure that since we are created this way, then it is the best for us. I agree that 30s & 40s are midway through and should be used to the full but it needs building through the 20s as well.

Welcome Mary :)

Aywa ya Omar, it sure is.
Actually Mohaly's Valentine Series was so inspiring that I had to write about it in Global Voices.
I believe Mohaly's blog is in many Global Voices Authors feed.

P.S: I tried to ping or trackback the post but apparently the option is inactive.

I really liked the movie...found alot of deep thoughts and feelings along it...it emphasizes how time (going backwards or forwards) controls our lives and man has nothing to do infront of this fact...as it was said in the movie "none of us is perfect forever".

used to think that number of years lived in this world has no link whatsoever to how "young" our souls are.
that's why everyone looks at me as if i come from another planet.
the question is to guys now,
what do you think of a girl looking for her soulmate at the age of 40?

the movie is full of thoughts that deply touch you starting from the aging idea moving , Paris accident sequence and how it was written and presented is just a breath taking one.
his final message (his letter to his daughter) is feeha el kholasa

For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
