858) The Multi-Dimensional Love !

Couple of days ago I was chatting with a dear old friend and she asked me if I have loved before, and I said that Love is a multi-dimensional word and I am not sure that I have covered all its dimensions. So she asked me to define that, and I said:

"Love to be fully felt and understood it has to contain -randomly- respect, desire, itching, power & weakness, bitterness, missing, sharing, caring, lust, possession and sacrifice (willingly), mutual understanding and appreciation, common plans and chaos ... It is something that you cant see or touch, but can feel its effect on everything within you and around you, it takes you to another dimension ... and it just doesn't happen, it accumulates till you one day realize that you r way deep in love and u cant tell when did it start and how will it end..."

Am I right in describing it ?!

834) إنسان - الجزء الثانى !

لا

لم يعد جسدى هامدا

و لم تعد نفسى مُرة ..

القلب مازال دافئا

و الروح طليقة حرة

* * *

لست صنما

فإن الحجر لان ..

و لست وثنا

فقلبى ملئ بالإيمان

* * *

أدركت نفسى

قبل فوات الأوان ..

 أحببت نفسى

و فرحت بأنى إنسان

525) Valentine's Week : Love & Chemistry!

Since it is Valentine's week, then it is "talking about love" time... Tab3an I am only talking because this is the only thing I can do since doing something this week is not possible because simply it needs two to fall in love! I have even invloved myself in work on that day from 9am to 9pm to just get rid of the "love in the air" mode!

Anyway, since we are talking about love I would like to share with you what does LITERRALY mean to have chemistry in love, take a look at this picture & content below and you can see what and where is the chemistry leading to love is created in the human body.

Since it is all about chemistry, may be I should seek help from Dr.Ahmed Zewail to know why the hell I have such a great immunity against falling in love!!!!

"Recent studies in neuroscience have indicated that as people fall in love, the brain consistently
releases a certain set of chemicals, including pheromones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, which act in a manner similar to amphetamines, stimulating the brain's pleasure center and leading to side effects such as increased heart rate, loss of appetite and sleep, and an intense feeling of excitement. Research has indicated that this stage generally lasts from one and a half to three years." Winston, Robert (2004). Human. Smithsonian Institution.

310) The Sex Pyramid

Couple of days ago, i got a question about sex education specially with teens and twenties... I remembered a nice article written 2 years ago by Janice Crouse about the Sex Education thruogh introducting the sex pyramid (like Moslow hierarchy keda :) that I saw as the best answer to this controversial question..I thought I should share the part about the sex pyramid with you to see whether you agree that this is the right way to discuss sex with younger generations or not.
Mohaly
The foundation is "Values." Parents must communicate their values clearly, unequivocally, often and effectively. They should be confident in the knowledge that Biblical values do not go "out of style" or become out-dated. All truth is God's truth and regardless of cultural trends, values remain true and reliable compasses to guide believers through all the situations of life. Religious values of respect, dignity and honor are universal values that need to be applied specifically to sexual behavior so that our boys learn to respect and honor girls, and girls learn dignity and self-respect so that they can effectively say "no."

The second step is "Relationships." Parents must communicate the importance of establishing a relationship of trust and respect before intimacy develops. Parents need to communicate basic principles about character development, honor and individual responsibility.
The third step is "Emotions." Young people are seldom aware of just how extensive is the emotional aspect of relationships - especially when sex is part of the mix. Parents can help their children develop emotional control and teach them to analyze their feelings. Parents need to focus on helping their children separate their emotions from their judgments and to be careful in getting emotionally involved before laying a foundation of trust and respect.
The fourth step is "Consequences." People today rarely understand the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases and even those who are aware of them think that they won't get one. In a similar manner, most people think that they are "mature" and they believe that their relationships will "last forever.
At the top of the sex pyramid is the mechanics of the sexual act -- the "birds and bees" aspect. This actually should receive the least attention because it is the easiest part of sexual interaction to explain and understand, though, ironically, comprehensive sex education tends to focus on the biology of sexuality rather than the foundation on which sex is built.

300) The 300th Post: Supplication to Allah!

Allah does not expect perfection from us. What is expected of us is that when we make mistakes we move from the state of disobedience, return to Allah in repentance and seek refuge in the cover of mercy that He's provided for us. If we take too long and not seek refuge in the mercy of Allah and don't ask for forgiveness, our souls become used to the sins and even ruined by them.

In these Holy nights of Qadr, I ask Allah the Almighty to:

1. Grant us the pure soul (nafs) that drives us to obey Him and love doing good deeds.
2. Grant us the strong & healthy body that we can use in carrying on His duties.
3. Grant us the mature mind that drives us to develop and make a difference in this world.
4. Grant us the loving heart that drives us to care about each other and live in peace.

Allahom enak 3afo, 3'afour, to7eb el 3afo, fa3fo 3anna.
Sob7an Allah, Al 7amdullah, Allaho Akbar, wa La Ilah Ila Allah.
Wa salla Allah 3ala sayedna Muhammad, we 3ala 2aleh we Sa7beh agma3een. Ameen ya Rab el 3alameen.

286) Fawazeer Ramadan 11 - Emotional Stress!

Bona2an 3ala Talab EL gamaheer, I am oepning this issue for discussion...
I am quoting a comment from a blog reader (and editing some words):

Have you ever felt that you run away from emotions because you couldn't tolerate the stress of making a decision of commitment. After every time of failure, you say ok this will be the last time next time i 'll change my attitude, I'll be a good different person. However, nothing changes because the fear is always there.

11. Whether you feel this way or not, what is the right thing to do in your opinion?

267) RAMADAN, The Best Balance!

Dear blog readers & visitors,
I wish you a very blessed RAMADAN, may Allah bestow his mercy and forgiveness during this holy month.
I see Ramadan as a perfect opportunity for training and balancing our lives:

Spiritually: Praying, Quran, & Fasting.

Mentally: Working Early and more time to think and plan.

Physically: Eating less, organize eating time, some daily exercise.

Emotionally: Friends, Family, helping others.

Believe me if you managed to lead Ramadan in this way, you will get the best out of it not only in Ramadan but as a threshold for the rest of the year.
May Allah bless you all..

264) MEMORIES::: 3ala Bali!!

This song....one of the best songs that were ever composed about Egypt & Egyptians.... every time I hear it, i can feel my tears clustering in my eyes...I just LOVE it, and love my elder colleague Aida El Ayoubi, she was a sincere singer and is missed in the current mess of "modern Arabic music!".

I used to love the song since I was in high school/early college, but now I love it more because it just simplifies my vision regarding my country...Masr!

3ala bali......3ala bali

210) Guys & Girls, What & How?!

P.S> Before I start, I am not talking about myself or anyone specific. I am just talking here as one of the big loosers when it comes to romantic relationships.

Guys: What is the right way to approach a girl if you like her?

Girls: What is the right way to approach a guy if you like him?

Guys and Girls: How would you know if you like him/her aslan?

What the hell happens between 5 and 6, and why didn't it continue building up?!
--Is it "taking her/him for granted"
--or "lack of vision and very quick development in the beginning that led to quick deterioration at the end"
--or "getting out passion in sex" or "bad sex"
--or "immaturity unprepared for responsibilities"
--or What?

It is a dilemma that this generation faces, that led to a 40% divorce rate (highest generation ever).

THE 100th POST

This is my 100th post since I started blogging.
I didn't imagine that it will come in such circumstances (90 mins before a surgery), so I will just say what I feel at the moment without editing....

Although it is not a big operation, but it is my 1st, and "el 2a3mar beyad Allah".
I just want to say that I tried my best to make a positive difference, sometimes I succeeded, others I didn't but I am not regretting the time or effort, and I am sure that if I 'didn't finish what i am trying to start, others will definitely do, and even better than me.
I tried to love everyone or at least like, and el 7amdulleah I don't hate anyone and don't have enemies.
I just have a request, if I did or say anything to anyone that made him/her upset, please forgive me.

Pray for me,
Mohaly

Operation at 9am CLT, in hospital till Sunday, in bed at home till 30 April.
P.S. I have written 2 draft posts that will be published with someone's help in the next 2 days till I am able to "sit" again by Tuesday in-shaa-Allah.

Ana mesh ma3ahaom....Am I Lost between 2 worlds?!

I am not talking about the movie, but about reality.

-Don't you feel lost between What you do, and What you "should have" done?!
-Don't you feel confused about what you want to do, and what you can do?!
.
I have always been a moderate person when it comes to point of views. I don't like to be an extremist (except in time management :), in religion, i am not fanatic nor non-religious; in politics, i am not capitalist, communist, right wing, left wing, or any (may be my believes are closer to socialist but can't consider myself one); in love, not "sahtan" nor "galanf". I am always having my own way, line, opinion, that may coincide or clash sometimes with one or all of these views.
.
But, and ahhhh men but, although I feel peaceful about this choice, and had lot of success, I feel that I am lost between 2 worlds, West & East. I think, work, operate (manage my day) in a more western style regarding systems, production, plans, studies, time, respect,...etc. However, my feelings are definitely eastern (very sensitive, passionate, emotional, ...etc).

Some people tell me I am lucky coz I am having the best of each world, but do you think I am, or I am lost between 2 worlds?

My fellow 30ians - Part I: Emotions

At least by the time you are thirty you should begin to feel more secure about yourself than you did when you were a teenager. But these are still potentially confusing times, when there is an enormous amount of social pressure on you to establish a career, to become financially independent, find a life partner if you didn't do so in your twenties and learn to cope with possible fatherhood.

It must be remembered that even positive changes bring about stress. How well you know yourself will play a great role in how you deal with the dramatic changes in your life. How healthy your self-image is, will also determine many of your choices, from sexual choices, to career choices to your choice of partner.

Despite a growing sense of independence, during this time in your life, friends and family will be very important support structures. If you are a good friend, you will have good friends.
Spending time with them will help you to destress. Family is also important, and not only because granny will babysit, so you can go to the movies. If however, you feel that your family of origin is more destructive than supportive, it may be an idea to minimise contact, especially if it stresses you out.

You will, at this stage of your life, probably learn the very liberating skill of saying no. Knowing where to draw the line with your children, your boss, your parents, your partner and your friends. This is not a selfish thing to do – on the contrary. In this way you will not get burnt out or feel used as you would if you always bent over backwards to accommodate everyone, except yourself, that is.

It is also during these years of your life that your personal values will become clearer and you will prioritise your life accordingly. It is a time of change, of growth, of major decisions and of hard work – take a deep breath and get the most out of the experience.

---to be contd.
