860) Cairo Friendship Association !

On the same day 20 years ago (24.4.1994), I and some distinguished friends established a small student organization that grew really fast till winning the best Club at the AUC (American University in Cairo) and extended its chapters to 2 local Universities in Egypt (Ain Shams, & Helwan), and 3 International ones in Europe (Switzerland), North America (Canada), and Asia (Bahrain). It extended to have subsidiaries like the Pro-Action Team for Development, Arab Cultral Integration Conference, Publications (like CIFA, Thursday in Cairo,..etc), and mega projects (like Cairo Anniversary, Cairo Cultural Trips, ..etc) that attracted students and graduates from all over Egypt.

To all those who once took part in any of CFA activities in its golden age (1994-2000) including Pro-Action Team, Arab Cultural Integration Conference, CFA Egypt, or CIFA, I would like to deeeeeply thank you for your precious and sincere contributions that made us have such successful experience.

After the midnight of Wednesday and before the dawn of Thursday, I lost a big love, a great passion, I lost one of the few people I really really loved in my life, I lost the one who loved me unconditionally and was always her favorite person on earth. I lost my second mother, I lost my grandma ... Mama Didi 7abebti ... 

Ana ta3baan away ... maleesh nefs ... ahhhhhh... so bitter inside ... I burried you with my bare hands, I can't believe I did that...

bye bye ya Didi, i cant believe that i wont see u again and be taken within your hug, or take you in my arms, I won't see your lovely smile, adorable golden and silver hair, and those small hands that were very big in what they give...

Toltomeya We Talatashar ... the 007 of Egypt!

All my generation (Mid 70s) will surely remember our high school time hero "Raafat El Haggan" (Refaat El Gammal) or David Samhoun (Jack Biton). I used to LOVE this series, and even open the TV 15 mins earlier just in case it starts early (u know Egyptian TV timings). I really miss those days...I rarely get excited now about something, specially on TV!

By the way he died on 1982, i.e 3 years before the novel, and 6 years before the TV series.

264) MEMORIES::: 3ala Bali!!

This song....one of the best songs that were ever composed about Egypt & Egyptians.... every time I hear it, i can feel my tears clustering in my eyes...I just LOVE it, and love my elder colleague Aida El Ayoubi, she was a sincere singer and is missed in the current mess of "modern Arabic music!".

I used to love the song since I was in high school/early college, but now I love it more because it just simplifies my vision regarding my country...Masr!

Do you remember that every year or 2 there was 1 model doing all that ads like Mervat Mongy, Nesreen, Naila El Farouky, Yasmine Abdel Aziz....etc.

Do you remember the SUPER ADS of Tarek Nour that were 7adeeth el madina and we sing it together in Ramadan!

Do you remember Ma7moud, eih da ya Ma7moud....Kabnoury Alamoyoum...Gebt EL melabes men kovarteena...ageeb gehazy meneen, men 3abd el re7im Amr......masr lel ta2meen ya 3am amin before every single fazoura!....3abad el shams seella for Galal Zaki, the longest commercial TV ad ever (100 seconds)....el hanem el 7amra....shay el 3arousa....Edeeny Frankee Samy....wana wana a7eb el 3askary....and tab3an e3lanat Kareema Mokhtar :)

P.S> you have to be born in the 70s or at least very early 80s to remember...
