711) Fawazeer Ramadan ::: The Stolen Painting?

A Van Gogh painting worth an estimated $55 million was stolen from a Cairo museum on Saturday and after reporting it had been recovered, the state news agency quoted a minister as saying it was still missing.

El Fazoura: Who stole it? & Why did they report finding it if they didn't?
(please don't tell me Karim Abdel Aziz and Maged El Kedwani stole it and it is hidden in Hanan Tork's Red Wedding dress ;)

618) Being Yourself :: Episode 8: Being Clean!

Being a clean person is shirnking in this country to the extent that normal acts of cleanliness is now considered as part of the precautions of an pandemic! (see 570)
The problem is that many people I have seen myself -including me- are sometimes mocked at because they take an action against this anti-cleanliness campaign, and unfortunately some of them just can't be themselves and back-off.
Why? afraid from others, just don't want problem,...etc. Whatever the reason is. If you are a clean person, and you want to see your house, car, street, garden...etc clean.... JUST BE YOURSELF and do what you feel right about it even if people didnt agree or even mocked you. I did it once and went cleaning the middle sidewalk in the street, people were looking at me like an alien, SO WHAT, but by the end of the day, at least I am enjoying a clean middle sidewalk even if it lasts for couple of days, and those who know me and have seen me doing it, they didnt dare to make it dirty at least infront of me. Things don't get dirty by itself, but through those who throw stuff, and others who don't take an action or even object.

BE YOURSELF.... BE CLEAN

P.S. I am dedicating this post to someone who really deserves it the most; Blog Reader Maha Aly, thank you Maha for being clean and being proud of it even if annoys others.

490) The Fatal HomeWork !!!

What happened to the people, I can't beleive that teachers are killing their students specially Children!

I consider my students in masters/dipolma as my younger brothers and sisters and although age difference is less than 10 years but I feel responsible about them as long as they are in my class. How come when these students are children who really need? love, protection, and a role model, how come they get killed by their teacher because they didnt do their homework!!!!

I am really very Sad & Sorry for Islam (pic to the left) who was killed couple of days ago by his teacher!!

There must be a law/by-law against this attitude.

460) Egypt is On Fire not only Shura Council !

I am really sad to see part of our history gone within hours....

I can see the fire blaze that has eaten up the Egyptian upper house of Parliament as a symbol of the Egyptian scene:

1. No Precautions.
2. No Planning.
3. Silly Chaotic Reactions from officials and people.
4. No Corrective / Preventive Attitude.

The whole of Egypt is on fire not only the Shura council, we don't learn from our mistakes, and tomorrow there will be another, and another, and another disasters...

We didn't learn from Opera House, or Cultural Center, or the Train...etc, We didn't learn from El 3abara or Zelzal...and will never learn as long as we are behaving this way.

We need to stop and think:

1. What went wrong?
2. How can we make it right?
3. How to maintain and develop.

Without answering these questions and TAKING actions, Egypt may soon be on fire like in Jan 1952!! and I really don't want to live and see that day!

356) The Zero Pound-Note!!

I have read about this Idea in India, an NGO called FPI set up to fight corruption has printed over 200,000 zero-denomination notes that resemble Indian currency and has begun distributing them around the country. It is asking people to give the notes to anyone demanding a bribe. This is their promo:

"Imagine that you are going to a government office to get some paper cleared or some certificate and the lazy guy out there refuse to give you the stuff as promised and ask you to come back in another few days, weeks or months. You know that he expects you to pay bribe and you really don’t know what to do. So how would you handle such a situation? You want to yell at him, but you don’t know how to express your anger. Here is a solution: The Zero rupee-note."

Do you think it can work in Egypt, or since the pound is already of Zero value, it doesn't matter much.

342) Is it hard for us to have a Clean Hajj!

Other than the great feeling of satisfaction, and happiness in Hajj. There were some stuff that were really annoying. On the top of which comes the sanity & garbage problem.

I am just wondering if Hajj was an obligation on Europeans and organized by Germany, would it be that chaotic, messy, and dirty. Saudi organizers collected 15,000 TONS of garbage in the Eid days only, other than Arafat, Mecca, & Mozdalifa! In the last couple of days the smell of garbage in the paths of Menna were like the smell of pollution in Cairo! No wonder that most of us are sick when we are back or even before.

I hope that one day I can see a CLEAN and Human communication and attitude between Muslims specially in the Holy lands where we should be at our best!

325) City Stars ... Stay Safe!

After the City Stars fire, we need to be more cautious. I have got the following in my email this morning and thought of sharing it with you:

Early reports collected suggest thatthe use of oil-based paints were at least one of the reasons why the firecaught and spread so rapidly. Water-based paints of course are much safer than the oil-based variety. Another report suggested that some insulation in that area of the mall had been sealed by the use of a flammable tar mix. If so, perhaps this was not the best choice of materials.

Please be advised that most of the injuries were a result of two factors;smoke inhalation and panic.

1. If you are caught in a fire, stay low and make your way to the nearest exit. Stay low. Smoke rises because it is hotter than ambient air. If the opportunity presents itself, cover your mouth and nose with a damp cloth.

2. Frightened patrons injured others in the mad dash to get out of the building. Remember that panic kills. Keep your head. Remain calm. Walk or crawl to the nearest exit. Do not use elevators in a fire.

Stay safe!

306) Dark Side of Egypt II - Mokhadarat!

I cant talk about the dark side in our generation without mentioning the scary increase of drug usage and addiction in the young (18-25) & mature youth (26-40) segments.

How many guys died from an overdose in the few couple of years? How many homes were torn apart because of addiction? How much money did the country loose on buying & healing, in addition to the waste of production time and energy? The questions are endless, and the sadness is overwhelming!!

Couple of days ago I read in Al-Ahram that 10% of the youth are drug ADDICTS, in addition to millions of users in different forms (Hash, ..etc). Imagine we have about 4 million drug addicts between 18 and 40!!

1. Why did it dramatically increase?

2. How can we contain it?

3. How can we (non-addicts) avoid it?

God Bless us all,
Mohaly

P.S. Thanks Embee for the video!
