- Dr.Fathy Serour, 90, wins a case against Egyptian People, and is asking for $1 Trillion pound in return for forgiving them.
- Imbaba President, Sheikh Abdel Gabbar Hazem El Wahsh, celebrates burning of the last church in the Repubic of Imbaba, and Saleeb Abdel Massih, President of Coptic Republic of Shubra declares war on Imbaba.
- Omar Alaa Mubarak, 20, announces joining the Muslim Brotherhood, and marrying Fareeda Gamal Mubarak, 12.
- Egypt nominates Dr. Mostafa El Fiki for the Arab League after Dr.Nabil El Arabi's resignation in  December 2020.
- The Central Bank denies that the USD exchange rate will be 20 pounds vs. 1 USD this year and stresses that it wont exceed 19.5 pounds.
- Egyptian President Amr Moussa, 84, declares that he will step down in 2030, and political activist Dr. Mohamed El Baradie is meeting him to reach a compromise to step down in 2027.
- E2telaf Kohol el Thawra announces an Alfeya (1000 people) for celebrating the 10th Anniversary of 25 January Revolution next Friday in Tahrir square.

761) The Arab Kleptocracy of Egypt !

After seeing all this corruption in Egypt by the "National Democractic Party" and the "State Security", I can say that we will be unfair if we called what was happeneing in Egypt as Autocracy.


An autocracy is a form of government in which one person possesses unlimited power, but this person may be working for the sake of Egypt with a clear vision and doesn't hear except his voice, and this wasn't exactly the case with the former regime.
I think what we had is simply a kleptocracy which is a term applied to a government subject to control fraud that takes advantage of governmental corruption to extend the personal wealth and political power of government officials and the ruling class (kleptocrats). This is done through taking from state funds at the expense of the wider population, sometimes without even doing an honest service. This is the official definition of the word, and I feel that as if it has been tailored exactly on the Egyptian Regime although it has been there since the Greeks. The word has a complete and solid meaning now when you apply it on Mubarak's era. The term simply means "ruling by thieves". 
I am asking you dear readers to use the right word for what we have been through. We were experiencing  a nightmare of a Kleptocratic Regime that had been ruled by Theives, and had been protected by Thugs. We have to be persistent on getting everyone specially the big whales on trial and pursue every penny in Egypt and abroad. It is our children and grand children's right and they won't forgive us if we didn't do our best to get it back.

So let's work together on removing the traces of this UGLY regime and move on to Real Democracy where we, through consensus, direct referendum, or elected representatives exercise equal control over the matters which affect our interests. Sometimes you will be within the majority, sometime you will be a minority, but this doesn't matter as long as you have a say.

738) Shik ... Shak ... Shok !

Once upon a time there was Mr."Shik" who was heading a country for looong years.. one day he decided to run for the zillion's term, so Magles el "Shak" decided to nominate him, only him, and none but him (so help us God). Magles el"Shak" called for elections where people of "Shok" voted for their beloved leader "Shik" to "run" their country till further notice, and since then this country's nick name has become "Shik, Shak, Shok" with national anthem carrying the same name (listen to it here).

Of course the previous paragraph is purely imaginary and "doesn't ever" happen in reality! For example, in 2005 presidential elections, the last thing I could have imagined is to have President Mubarak running for 2011 elections. The question is: should I be prepared to see President Mubarak running for 2017 elections?

Before you say: "no way", note that on the day this picture was taken (in Italy) Muabark said he will be inagurating -along with Berlescony- the Italian Univeristy in Egypt in 2017.

President Mubarak has started yesterday his 57th visit to France in 29 years, which means that he is visiting France on an average of 6 months since he came to power in 1981 (the average frequency is every 3 months in the last 3 years).

El Fazoura: Are we going to be part of France? If not, why does our "beloved" president visit France that frequent. If it is even for tourism kan zamano zehe2!!

After 30 years of status quo, is Egypt sinking in sand or rising from it?! Will we live in isolated colonies, or will we work in teams?!

Imagine Egypt being the cover topic of the Economist. It an article worth reading. Arabist.net has commented on the article saying:

The overall tone of the report is a mixture of cautious optimism and a lament of some of the Egypt's failings — its corrupt police state, its education. In light of the woe-is-us mood that dominates in the country and some alarmist accounts of Egypt being on the brink of collapse, it's refreshing to point out the dramatic social and economic changes that the Mubarak era has introduced. 689) Whoever God prefers, Mubarak prefers !!

-Mubarak In Rome May 2010-

Last week President Mubarak has enjoyed visiting his favourite place outside Egypt "Italy" after he fully recovered from the surgery ( I really hope that this visit's agenda was mainly to take Italy into our side in the Nile Valley conflict specially that it has big influence in Ethiopia).


What I have noticed in the press conference following his meeting with the Italian PM is that he was taken by a question of who will be his successor. He surprisingly answered: ‘Whoever God prefers, I prefer’... tayeb we malo, wa ne3ma Bellah!. However, at the end of the press conference (documented in Ahram coverage) he said that he and Berlusconi will be opening the Italian University in Egypt in 2017 (he will be about 90), and the Italian PM (who will be about 80) didn't oppose that. This means that God prefers meen ya Welad?

Obama wins Noble Prize for his "peace intentions"!

Then why not "Mubarak" as he had peace intentions since Obama was in elementary school..

563) Condolences to President Mubarak!

I am really sad for the death of Mohamed Alaa Mubarak (12 years) the grandson of President Mubarak. Although Mubarak's regime has done lots of faults and I wish the day will come and see it down, but when it comes to the death of a child, I find myself extremely sympathising with the ruling family.

548) Mubarak & the Summit !

I am wondering what is right for Mubarak to boycott the Doha summit earlier this week? 

On one hand, Qatar is misbehaving and jumping over files being handled by Egypt, and they need a statement that shows them this is not right, but on the other hand, the summit is not about Qatar, but about the Arab world and its challenges ... I personally see that Mubarak should have gone and delivered a very strong and assertive speech, and make use of "his experience" with Arabs to have better outcome of the "reconciliation summit!!"....  wala eih?

534) Egyptians & Mubarak: 10,000 days!

I don't know if it is a coincidence that the reputable Galal Amin publishes his new book about Egyptians under the rule of Mubarak with the 10,000 day of his presidency! But in all cases, Galal Amin - as usual- has presented a beautiful masterpiece analysing all the different aspects of the life of Egyptians during almost 30 years.

The book covers social, cultural, political, and mainly economic aspects and changes that happened during this period and its roots since the Egyptian Kingdom era. I really recommend this book if you are interested in Socio-Economic issues, or just interested to try to understand the Mubarak's era as a whole.

Ibrahim Essa on the other hand didn't miss the occasion, and published a hypothetical novel "Death of the Big Man" about a president who died in office after 30 years or ruling ;) If you like sarcasm, you will like it!

Anyway, I personally believe that one can't really judge an era unless it is over, and I don't think we are over with Mubarak's era yet. Wala heya over wana mesh wakhed Bali?

515) Managing Egypt !

Despite the fact that many things are going in the wrong direction or in no direction in this country, I have to admit that managing Egypt is not an easy job at all. However, it is not impossible as well. 

I really wanna spend a whole week with Mubarak and see how does he think, plan, & react regarding internal and external issues. Does he really have Egypt prosperity as priority no.1? who has the real power, what are the stuff that he can't do, and why? how does he see his accomplishments and mistakes? and what are his real plans for the future?

Arab Actors: This decision by the Head of Actors Syndicate (Ashraf Zaki) regarding that the Arab actors should act in only 1 drama production/year is non-sense and unfair. Since when do we care about that nationality of the actor...in Arts it is not about who you are as much as about what creation do you get out and contribute...and this contribution is at the end of the day part of the Egyptian heritage (like Farid, Sabah, Naboulsi,.....etc movies).

Useless Money: I really don't know how these heroes of government employees can survive the month.... suddenly I feel that the minimum unit is 50 LE, any where I go even for coffee and water I pay 50 pounds...If I eat it jumps to almost 100 pounds...if eating and drinking are now forcing themselves as part of the upper class budget, what would the middle and lower classes do? We have to do something to save our fellow citizens at least to ensure that they have the basic food and drink guaranteed or else.....

298) The long term Rumor!

It seems that the ones who launched the rumors about Muabark's death had a long term plan of killing him softly. The President has been in DAILY public activities in Cairo, governorates, Lybia, Jordan, Saudi...since the start of Ramadan and he is 80!

253) Mubarak & the Silly Rumors!!

Why don't we stop wasting time in rumors that can waste tons of hours like Mubarak's death...

Once we arrived in Cairo they said Mubarak died, of course I laughed coz the airport wont look like that or people will act like that if he died.

Again today "garayed el mo3arda talking" about his death or countdown!!
What will we gain when we waste time thinking and getting into modes of panic?! It wont change anything...If he died, I am sure that there are many scenarios to keep things under control, and If he didn't, then why are we wasting our time on a rumor?!!!!
