845) Got Money ... Got Life?!

Run after Money .... spend your whole youth piling it up ... over work, sacrifice time, relations, and anything to have more of it ..... why??! ... To enjoy your life when you are older and cant work ..... GIVE ME A BREAK.

Money is like drugs, it just gives an instant feeling of euphoria and owning the world, but no matter how much you have or get, you will always need more and your whole life will revolve around it. Do you think that keeping on possessing things will make you happy? Do you really think that if you own a yacht, a plane, 10 cars, ...etc will make you happy? ... I guess not, it will make you more worried about maintaining them and getting better ones. I'd rather earn enough money that makes me able to spend a week in a luxurious place twice a year than owning and worrying about it for the rest of the year.

This doesn't mean I hate making money, of course NOT. What I hate is making it a goal not a result. I work to make a difference, feel satisfied, and when I do that right, I should get money; sometimes a lot (Corporate), sometimes few (Academic), and sometimes none (Social Responsibility Work). But it only appears in my short term goals to maintain functioning properly, while life-time goals have no trace of it.

What really makes me happy is seeing a positive difference happening with people whether I took part in it or not. What makes me happy is seeing a talent recognized, an effort appreciated, and a passion respected. What makes me happy is freedom, justice, simplicity, and above all LOVE. This is a long lasting happiness money can't afford it.

Why do you lead a PENDING life running after a mirage while you can actually live it to the max with you already have?

835) Are You Beautiful?!

People struggle to make themselves look beautiful, while most of the time they just get themselves more and more ugly ... yes saddening but true ... Just a quick look to the amount of money spent yearly on plastic surgeries  diet physicians, cosmetics, fashionable clothes and accessories ..etc. tells you how big this issue really is. The interesting thing most of the most beautiful people (women or men) I have seen (and believe me I have seen a lot) are the ones glowing from within, the ones who charm you and make you follow them with their genuine smile, and uplifting spirit.

Yes, looks counts; we want the best of the best of the best ... but looks no matter how do you spend on perfecting it, just lasts for the the first impression. It is great for pictures, modeling, ..etc, but when it comes to true human communication and bonding, there are much more beyond the looks ...

God is beautiful and created man kind to crown His creation. He put part of His beauty in each one of us; some are beautiful because they are good looking, some are beautiful because they do really care, some are beautiful because they are genuine, some are beautiful because they are impressive, and some are beautiful because they make others beautiful.... Beauty comes from within as much as from outside or even more..

Can you consider that Marilyn Monroe more beautiful than Mother Teresa?....
Is Angelina beautiful because of how she looks or what she does with all the unfortunates in the world?
Who is more beautiful, your father or George Clooney?
The answer for all questions is all are beautiful each on his/her way..

So now, you need to really stop and think for a moment ... Where does your beauty lie? Is it in your looks, your way of talking, you voice, your heart, your mind, your manners....etc... Find it and make good use of it, and be sure that each of one us has his/her own beauty, and when he/she see it and believe in it, it will be reflected on the rest.

To all the people afraid from getting older ... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you enjoy your age to the maximum and make the best use of it.

To all the ladies struggling with losing weight .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you achieve your target, not because you will be thinner, but because you will be in control.

To all the girls who think they are ugly ... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you go fetch your source of beauty coz no one will see it unless you do first.

To all the men who think they are not good enough for any women ..... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful if you got the self-confidence and genuine caring that women can smell miles away.

To all the geeks who think they are aliens .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you reflect your brilliant mind on others, and use it to Connecting and Impressing them.

To anyone who thinks that he or she is not beautiful .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you believe that you really are..

To everyone who think he or she is BEAUTIFUL ... Help others to see their beauty in order to be more beautiful ..

I am beautiful ... Are you?

822) If Only !!

Do you realize that if your aim is happiness, you will never be happy !! Yes how ironic, but happiness is an abnormal and temporary status where if reached can't be always maintained... What we should aim for is satisfaction as this can be manageable and permanent, and when happiness comes we enjoy it, and try to prolong it but we shouldn't take it for granted.

"If only" turned out to be the mother of all sadness because we willingly make our happiness pending on something that if happened, there is a 99% chance that we won't be happy... there will be something else that we will be looking for and saying "If only I have this".

Know what you have, and enjoy it, and know what you don't and work for it. The real happiness comes from making use of your blessings and working hard to achieve your goals; other wise, welcome to the infinite loop of "If Only!".

794) The Pursuit of Happiness !!

In 2006, Will Smith has starred in a really deep and great movie called "The Pursuit of Happiness". What I liked most about the movie is the the ability of its main characters to seek happiness and have the faith that they will get it in-spite of the challenges that keep facing ...  I have noticed that many people - including myself- are tending to go either worried or even pessimistic because of the continous stress of bad news and stupid actions and reactions in Egypt. So I decided to post this simple video that gives you quick tips for happiness. Just try some and it really makes a difference... Please let's re-enjoy our lives in order to be able to continue .. It seems that there is still a longer way to go and we need to equip ourselves with peace of mind..

789) Is it hard to be Happy ?!

!!

Why is happiness so hard to achieve?
Why do we tend or seem to be un-happy most of the time?

Ironically I am writing that on a day I am really happy as it is the birthday of the most precious person in my life, the real source of happiness .. my cute and lovely niece Noor :)

753) BEING EGYPTIAN 2.0 !

Yesterday 11.02.2011 was the happiest day of my life.... Egypt is finally in the hands of the Egyptian People, Egypt is free, and we were part of making history... One Day I will take my little son or daughter on my lap and tell them how did their father fight through Writing, Lecturing, Protesting for weeks, and even Defending his home and family in the streets...Allah Akbar, thank you God.

It was a dream that finally came true through unity, determination, and sincerity.

I have always believed in Egypt and have always loved her to the extent that some of my friends have mocked me for having its flag in my room, and national songs in my car, refusing job offers with triple my income in UK and Gulf areas, giving lectures for free, and even my work as VP of Nahdet El Mahrousa. But this mocking just gave more power, and Khaled Sa3eed's death was a turning point... since the day Khaled Sa3eed died, I have decided to speak up and not to be afraid... through the blog, facebook, and even in public...my mother was so worried, and they have tried to hack my account twice, but I have seen people dying for Egypt and it just gave me more and more determination and freed my heart from any fear...and thanks to the admin of Khaled Sa3eed (Wael Ghoneim) who kept inspiring me and others as well to continue, and of course our brothers and sisters in Tunis who gave us the final push and helped us throughout the revolution. I can finally celebrate my birthday now.

But this article is not about me or others...it is about US all...I have written many times saying that: "If this generation won't change Egypt, it will never change", and "If Egyptians have a vision and mission to unite around, you will see miracles"...and thank God...thank God...thank God that I have lived and witnessed my beloved country FREE...

I have worked in the Internet field for many years, and used to hold almost the same post Ghoneim is holding in Google but for its competitor MSN, and I really liked him calling this revolution  REVOLUTION 2.0 as an indication of revolution on everything and system that has been rotten in Egypt... but allow me to say that I think that Revolution 2.0 is almost over, and EGYPT 2.0 has just started... In order to launch Egypt 2.0 a huge work and responsibility is waiting for us. We have just finished dealing with the past, and now we have the challenge of building our won future.

I will be mostly dedicating the blog in the coming period for a new series called EGYPT 2.0 about how can we all contribute in building a new Egypt that we can continue to be proud of, and can one day pass it on as a treause to our kids.

I will be mainly talking about:

- Life: Having a Mission
- Work: Productivity vs. Activity
- Home: Being a Productive Family
- Society: Integration and Solidarity
- World: International Image and Positioning

For now, have some rest for a couple of days, take your time to reflect and realize, and let's start this week to build our country... It is now ours, and it is our responsibility.

I will try my best to cover all the aspects of developing this country... I will integrate old articles and new ideas..and I will need your help in discussing them here to inspire each other and keep the beautiful spirit that has inspired the whole world.....We owe it to ourselves, and  TO THE BEAUTIFUL PURE MARTYRS who lost their lives defending our case. Please if you are reading this, stand up for 1 minute of silence in respect for their souls.

We have amazed the world with our civilization, inspired the World with our Revolution 2.0, & we'll impress the world with EGYPT 2.0 in-shaa-Allah...

Long Live Egypt ... Long Live the Egyptians

I am reborn :)

704) Smile before you forget it !

I guess we need lots of those in Cairo...I hope it comes naturally, but even if it didn't, we should try to bring a smile on our faces before forgetting how to smile.

Smile... you wash out lots of negative energy, you take Thawab, and you give yourself hope...Wenabi Tabasam :)

642) Being Yourself 10 - Final Episode!

Don't ever let anyone make you feel that he has control over your life. You are the one who decides how much power you give to other people, and to what extent they can interfere in your life.

Even God -All Mighty- just tells you the right way and strategy, gives you the freedom and choice, accepts your mistakes if you regret it, and only judges you at the end where He balances the good / bad deeds and actions.

So how come you pend your security in life on someone.Your security comes from within.

..... Your boss may secure you in business today, but business changes, and he may be the one who fires you tomorrow.
..... Your lover may give you emotional security today, and may be the one who dumps you tomorrow.
..... Your friends and connections may give you social security today, but may turn against you tomorrow.

So focus, and know that you are the one who chooses either being a slave for other people's choices, or freeing yourself and knowing that the only source of security is YOU.

You try your best at work, with the people you love, with friends, and enjoy the happy moments... If things aren't as before, don't feel weak or rejected, it may be a sign for "a need to change" ... not only the people, but the way you link your life with them as well.

For those believing in God: Take a "Neyyah", do your best, and thank God on whatever outcome, you are the winner in both cases. Know that only continuous relation that gives you complete security is your relation with God. It rewards you in both good and in bad, and sometimes even the bad turns out to be .. for better.

For those who don't believe in God: Don't sink in materialistic life, have a way out, do what you gotta do, but don't link your happiness or security on others coz it will be a fragile security. Focus on yourself and don't let others control you.

I love you Guys,
Mohaly

I don't know why do we keep our happiness pending on something that if it happened we will be happy... but when it actually happens we realize that we spent so much time and effort, and we may not be as happy as we thought, we may be even regret the wasted time..?!
Enjoy the moment, Enjoy the Eid :)

390) Community Satisfaction!

I was thinking about the equality of people and how hard it is to find someone who has everything all the time. Even the socio-economic classes are based on what? income, education, life style.. but what about happiness, satisfaction, love... isn't satisfaction the ultimate goal for each of us.

We need money to be able to fulfil our current and future needs...in order to be satisfied
We need education to be capable of playing a role in life (whether selfish or contributing to the society)... in order to be satisfied.
We need to build relations to give and get love in order to be satisfied.
What if you have this satisfaction, and you are down the socio-economic classification? doesn't that mean that you are up the ladder of life in general?!!

I wanna say that whatever criteria you classify people upon, the end overall result shoull be equal. We just sometimes focus on one aspect and start building our whole perception and communication upon ; e.g Rich & Poor, Educated & Illiterate, Moltazim & not Moltazim ( that one really provokes me).

At the end, for the community to be satified, we all need each other no matter how different they are, coz even different is a relative word as it means something today "different" that what it will mean for the same person tomorrow.

363) Winning Kaman we Kaman!

What does our winning for the 2nd time in a row tell us?

It tells us that when there is strong leadership, clear mission, planned milestones & evaluation, quality time of training and development, and above all faith & team work, Egyptians win & it is very hard to stop them.... and when there is no vision, no plans, corruption (i before we), time wasting, and no team work, Egyptians lose everything & beating them is a piece of cake.

Football is not the issue, being Egyptians is!

345) 2007 Milestone!

Everyone of us should sit with him/herself tonight for an hour or 2 and think about what did he/she achieve or miss in 2007 and what he/she wanna change/keep and achieve in 2008.

The best celebration is to know that your overall score in life is getting better not worse even if it is worse in some parts. The secret of satisfaction is that you should deeply believe that you are good but can be better. Balance your spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional needs, and you will be granted happiness and satisfaction.

May Allah make our best days, our last days in our lives, and grant us all "a good closure" in donya, and "placement in heaven" in akhra.

Kol Sana Wentom game3an bekheer, and I love you all even if you don't :)

329) Which comes first? Life Quality or Perspective?

That is a conversation between 2 of my blog readers but on another blog discussing should life be nice first in order to be happy, or should we feel happy first in order for life to be nice?

I am sharing it below, but wanna know your opinion..

303) (((((:::: H A P P Y E I D ::::))))))

Even if it is not as happy as before, I still LOVE EID....everyone is happy..children at their peak...and people wake up early (ya ret tool el sana), meet, SMILE...why cant we be like that all year?!!!

My home overlooks the Eid Prayer Area, and I experience a Maseera to the Mosque (prob. the only maseera in Egypt that you can perform without being busted!)

I have always loved the Eid El Fitr more than Eid El Adha, may be because I experience Ramadan before but the other Eid comes after Hajj (which Inshaa-Allah I will be there this year)..

This year's it coincides with my little sister's birthday, so it is double feast (and tab3an double gift!)

WISHING ALL MY READERS, & THEIR FAMILIES A VERY HAPPY & BLESSED EID :)))

300) The 300th Post: Supplication to Allah!

Allah does not expect perfection from us. What is expected of us is that when we make mistakes we move from the state of disobedience, return to Allah in repentance and seek refuge in the cover of mercy that He's provided for us. If we take too long and not seek refuge in the mercy of Allah and don't ask for forgiveness, our souls become used to the sins and even ruined by them.

In these Holy nights of Qadr, I ask Allah the Almighty to:

1. Grant us the pure soul (nafs) that drives us to obey Him and love doing good deeds.
2. Grant us the strong & healthy body that we can use in carrying on His duties.
3. Grant us the mature mind that drives us to develop and make a difference in this world.
4. Grant us the loving heart that drives us to care about each other and live in peace.

Allahom enak 3afo, 3'afour, to7eb el 3afo, fa3fo 3anna.
Sob7an Allah, Al 7amdullah, Allaho Akbar, wa La Ilah Ila Allah.
Wa salla Allah 3ala sayedna Muhammad, we 3ala 2aleh we Sa7beh agma3een. Ameen ya Rab el 3alameen.

267) RAMADAN, The Best Balance!

Dear blog readers & visitors,
I wish you a very blessed RAMADAN, may Allah bestow his mercy and forgiveness during this holy month.
I see Ramadan as a perfect opportunity for training and balancing our lives:

Spiritually: Praying, Quran, & Fasting.

Mentally: Working Early and more time to think and plan.

Physically: Eating less, organize eating time, some daily exercise.

Emotionally: Friends, Family, helping others.

Believe me if you managed to lead Ramadan in this way, you will get the best out of it not only in Ramadan but as a threshold for the rest of the year.
May Allah bless you all..

214) Eza Nazar Elayha Asarrateh...

This is a sentence in one of Prophet Muhammad sayings when he was talking about the best qualities of a wife. I like the word very much, very simple word but has deep meanings coz the ultimate thing that we are looking for is happiness, and when it comes from your life-partner, it is the optimum.
