527) Valentine's Week: Singles Agenda !
After second thoughts, and instead of escaping, I told myself that It is Valentine's day, and singles have the right to enjoy it too, there is a brightside there for us ...Whether you choose to have other single people over to celebrate by playing these one-of-a-kind singles games, or whether you prefer to soak in the glory of being single on your own, the goal is simply to make the Valentine's day on Saturday your day!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, and a "Habby Falantim" as I hear it in the streets ;)

Some Tips from the Net:
GO TO A MOVIE... ALONE.
There's just something about seeing a movie when most people are not even thinking about what's on at the movies! Every holiday... this is where you'll find us.
TAKE A ROADTRIP.
Get out & about and explore some unknown territory in your car. If it's warm enough, roll the windows down (or put the top down), crank the tunes, and go wherever the road leads you. You have no destination. You have no obligations today. You are free to roam the great outdoors and just enjoy the day... alone. (Want some extra adventure?... rent your dream vehicle (like a Jeep or a motorcycle) for the day!
TAKE A BIKE RIDE.
You'll become rejuvenated and feel like a kid again pedaling around the neighborhood. Don't want anyone you know to see you?... Then stick your bike in the car and motor on over to the nearest park. There, you can pedal (or wobble) to your heart's content, take in the sights, stop and smell the roses, and even burn a few calories at the same time.
TRY SOMETHING NEW.
Some fun newactivities to consider:
Yoga... there's nothing like it for making you feel great in a short amount of time -- with very little effort on your part!
Parasailing... most are surpised to learn that this is such a mindless, effortless, no-skill-required kind of activity. You sit. They drive the boat. They add some slack to the rope attached to the harness you're sitting in. And you rise above it all. All the while, taking in some of the most beautiful sites around.
COOK UP SOMETHING INTERESTING... LITERALLY.
Whether you're handy in the kitchen or not, find a recipe (either an old family favorite, or one you dig up online), take a trip to the store and purchase all of the necessary ingredients. (Don't forget to splurge on some special pre-made dessert that's to die for!) Rush home to work your magic.
TAKE SOME PICTURES.
Hopefully, you'll feel compelled to get outdoors and photograph places that mean something to you, or some common local sights (people window-shopping downtown, kids playing at the park, animals at the zoo). If that's not motivating you, then consider these unique ways to use a digital camera. Either way, spending the day sharpening up your photography skills will surely yield some satisfying results at the day's end.
PURSUE YOUR PASSION (Mohaly's choice)
Whatever it is that you are passionate about in life -- be it a particular hobby, travel, craft projects, charitable acts, etc. -- use this day to make great strides by just doing that today. This is also known as drowning yourself in productivity... or pursuing those things that you are passionate about. As long as it's something you are completely driven to succeed at, then you will still be having FUN while accomplishing great things at the same time.

325) City Stars ... Stay Safe!
Early reports collected suggest thatthe use of oil-based paints were at least one of the reasons why the firecaught and spread so rapidly. Water-based paints of course are much safer than the oil-based variety. Another report suggested that some insulation in that area of the mall had been sealed by the use of a flammable tar mix. If so, perhaps this was not the best choice of materials.
Please be advised that most of the injuries were a result of two factors;smoke inhalation and panic.
1. If you are caught in a fire, stay low and make your way to the nearest exit. Stay low. Smoke rises because it is hotter than ambient air. If the opportunity presents itself, cover your mouth and nose with a damp cloth.
2. Frightened patrons injured others in the mad dash to get out of the building. Remember that panic kills. Keep your head. Remain calm. Walk or crawl to the nearest exit. Do not use elevators in a fire.
Stay safe!

221) Avoiding Office Stress - Avoid Misunderstanding!
· inputs to the task,
· required outputs from the task,
· scope of the task,
· what is not part of the task,
· standards, procedures or previous examples to be used,
· a deadline by when the task should be complete,
· total effort budgeted,
· agreed level of monitoring and coaching (you might as well suggest how much or how little help you need as many managers simply guess what you need and often get it wrong).

197) Why are Egyptians so Noisy?!
Mohaly
Away from stereotypes and generalizations, why are we –Egyptians- so noisy? Why are we loud?
Down the street, at home, in a train, in a cinema, in the opera house, even in the desert!
When I say we, I don’t exclude myself and I don’t mean all Egyptians. The beeping horns, the loud music, the f__ mobile phone tones…what is it? Did we develop a “culture of noise”? Or has it always been the case?
I’m trying a naïve synopsis, and you are all invited to disagree, agree, and comment, to the end of the list:
First: Freedom & Ignorance
Given the high rate of illiteracy (let alone the decay of ethics), many Egyptians don’t even know what freedom means. They don’t know what it means enjoying their lives (sometimes, through very noisy practices) without offending or annoying others. None of us was spared a noisy street wedding or a funeral’s loudspeakers next door.
Second: Despair & Selfishness
I think there are millions of Egyptians who feel that “we’re going nowhere, we stand no chance”. If the ship is sinking anyway, then at least let’s enjoy our last hour! We will do it selfishly and noisily!
Third: Passiveness
A legacy of oppression, ignorance and absence of basic human rights fermented into a passive attitude towards everything and everyone, including those idiots who play their music at loudest, those who talk and laugh loud down every street and corner, to the end of the list.
Fourth: Heritage & the Big City
Since day one, a newborn is exposed to every form of noise that there is! Zaghareet, seboo3, loud birthdays…they grow up into a city of 18 million plus…a city of over a million cars…a city that never sleeps.
Fifth: Attention
A guy wants to impress a girl, and because he (and probably she) knows no other means to impress a lady other than money, muscle and property, he draws her attention using the common language of noise (honking, latest song, mobile ring tones, etc! You only need one train ride to experience the entire range of the mobile phone ring tones on earth…
And because I’m not a money and muscle guy, I come to realize that I am “only a voice in a city of noise” as Chris de Burgh once said! But no…Templars: We are all responsible…be positive…don’t be noisy…don’t let noise rule.

Manage Your Stress....Manage Your Life!

Since I am starting a new stress management training this week, I thought of sharing these Internet tips with you.
1. For every one hour of work, take a five minute break and stretch, walk, or meditate. With just a few minutes of relaxation (or doing something other than work), you'll increase your physical activity as well as productivity and feel better throughout the day.
2.Spend 20 minutes a day doing something that is relaxing and not work related. Try taking a walk, stretching, reading a book, or doing yoga. These activities can help you keep your energy level up and feel better longer than eating a candy bar, drinking a soda, or eating a bag of chips.
3. If you are experiencing mild depression or anxiety, aerobic workouts such as walking or jogging can significantly improve your mood. Non-aerobic exercise, like weight lifting, can also boost your spirits, improve sleep and appetite, reduce irritability and anger and produce feelings of mastery and accomplishment. Be sure to check with your health care professional before you start any new exercise program.
4. Give volunteer work a try. It's a great way to take your mind off your own troubles and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you volunteer your time and energy to a good cause.
5. Make sure to plan something rewarding for the end of your hectic day, even if it as simple as a relaxing bath or a few minutes with a good book. Put off housekeeping, work, or family issues for a short period prior to bedtime and permit yourself to completely relax. Do not spend this time preparing tomorrow's schedule or doing chores you weren't able to get around to during the day. Keep in mind that you need time to revive and energize yourself. By doing this you'll be much more prepared to handle another stressful day.
6. Give yourself plenty of time to get to where you are going. Try bringing a book or magazine with you when you may have to pass time while waiting for an appointment or meeting.
7. Make today your focal point. You can't change yesterday, and you need not worry about tomorrow's challenges. Also, don't be concerned about what may never happen again.
8. Manage your time more effectively. Make an achievable "to do" list, and set priorities. Break tasks into smaller-sized chunks. Delegate as much as you possibly can. Remember that tomorrow is another day-and come to terms with the fact that you may not get everything done today.
