835) Are You Beautiful?!

People struggle to make themselves look beautiful, while most of the time they just get themselves more and more ugly ... yes saddening but true ... Just a quick look to the amount of money spent yearly on plastic surgeries  diet physicians, cosmetics, fashionable clothes and accessories ..etc. tells you how big this issue really is. The interesting thing most of the most beautiful people (women or men) I have seen (and believe me I have seen a lot) are the ones glowing from within, the ones who charm you and make you follow them with their genuine smile, and uplifting spirit.

Yes, looks counts; we want the best of the best of the best ... but looks no matter how do you spend on perfecting it, just lasts for the the first impression. It is great for pictures, modeling, ..etc, but when it comes to true human communication and bonding, there are much more beyond the looks ...

God is beautiful and created man kind to crown His creation. He put part of His beauty in each one of us; some are beautiful because they are good looking, some are beautiful because they do really care, some are beautiful because they are genuine, some are beautiful because they are impressive, and some are beautiful because they make others beautiful.... Beauty comes from within as much as from outside or even more..

Can you consider that Marilyn Monroe more beautiful than Mother Teresa?....
Is Angelina beautiful because of how she looks or what she does with all the unfortunates in the world?
Who is more beautiful, your father or George Clooney?
The answer for all questions is all are beautiful each on his/her way..

So now, you need to really stop and think for a moment ... Where does your beauty lie? Is it in your looks, your way of talking, you voice, your heart, your mind, your manners....etc... Find it and make good use of it, and be sure that each of one us has his/her own beauty, and when he/she see it and believe in it, it will be reflected on the rest.

To all the people afraid from getting older ... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you enjoy your age to the maximum and make the best use of it.

To all the ladies struggling with losing weight .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you achieve your target, not because you will be thinner, but because you will be in control.

To all the girls who think they are ugly ... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you go fetch your source of beauty coz no one will see it unless you do first.

To all the men who think they are not good enough for any women ..... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful if you got the self-confidence and genuine caring that women can smell miles away.

To all the geeks who think they are aliens .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you reflect your brilliant mind on others, and use it to Connecting and Impressing them.

To anyone who thinks that he or she is not beautiful .... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL as you are, and will be more beautiful when you believe that you really are..

To everyone who think he or she is BEAUTIFUL ... Help others to see their beauty in order to be more beautiful ..

I am beautiful ... Are you?

607) The Certainty about Virginity!

I find the way we handle the issue of virginity in our society a pure sort of hypocrisy and double standards. How come we are entering the 2nd decade of the 21st century, and a vast majority of us are still valuing and classifying women according to z-sometimes only according to- physical virginity?

I am not calling for having an open pre-marital sexual relations (although I still believe that it is totally a personal choice, and something that is hard to judge as it is All mighty God's not us who can judge, and punish- unless publically witnessed by 4 which is practically almost impossible ...etc.).

For the Hypocrisy part, we all know that now it is very easy for any girl to do what she wants and keep her virginity:

1. Either by going through all the steps the last step (you know what I mean).

2. Having an operation.

3. And now the latest Chinese -why am I not surprized- invention below!

So are we fooling ourselves or what?

For the Double Standards, I can't understand how come it is relatively acceptable -sometimes "desirable"- for men to have pre-marital sexual relations while women are always to be blamed and judged! I personally see virginity as an attitude and respect before being a physical test to prove it, whether you are a man or a woman!

Last and not least, why I do I feel that China understands us more than ourselves? They know that the Arab Culture is generally pro being satisfied if everything in public or on paper is fine, even if it is actually not!

300) The 300th Post: Supplication to Allah!

Allah does not expect perfection from us. What is expected of us is that when we make mistakes we move from the state of disobedience, return to Allah in repentance and seek refuge in the cover of mercy that He's provided for us. If we take too long and not seek refuge in the mercy of Allah and don't ask for forgiveness, our souls become used to the sins and even ruined by them.

In these Holy nights of Qadr, I ask Allah the Almighty to:

1. Grant us the pure soul (nafs) that drives us to obey Him and love doing good deeds.
2. Grant us the strong & healthy body that we can use in carrying on His duties.
3. Grant us the mature mind that drives us to develop and make a difference in this world.
4. Grant us the loving heart that drives us to care about each other and live in peace.

Allahom enak 3afo, 3'afour, to7eb el 3afo, fa3fo 3anna.
Sob7an Allah, Al 7amdullah, Allaho Akbar, wa La Ilah Ila Allah.
Wa salla Allah 3ala sayedna Muhammad, we 3ala 2aleh we Sa7beh agma3een. Ameen ya Rab el 3alameen.

267) RAMADAN, The Best Balance!

Dear blog readers & visitors,
I wish you a very blessed RAMADAN, may Allah bestow his mercy and forgiveness during this holy month.
I see Ramadan as a perfect opportunity for training and balancing our lives:

Spiritually: Praying, Quran, & Fasting.

Mentally: Working Early and more time to think and plan.

Physically: Eating less, organize eating time, some daily exercise.

Emotionally: Friends, Family, helping others.

Believe me if you managed to lead Ramadan in this way, you will get the best out of it not only in Ramadan but as a threshold for the rest of the year.
May Allah bless you all..

192) Watch out from getting Tanned!

Summer is starting (except 3and Gypo) and all of us like getting tanned. It looks sexy and yummi but do you know that there is a dark side of it?

According to the Weekly Spark many people assume that a tan protects them, when in fact a tan is actually a sign of skin damage. Tanning is the skin’s reaction to UV radiation from the sun or an artificial tanning bulb. When skin is exposed to UV rays, it tries to protect itself by producing a brown pigment called melanin, which darkens the cells of the outer layer of skin. Tanning is your skin’s imperfect defense mechanism against further damage, and darker tans cause the most permanent damage.

So did you like my new tan ;)

109) Vit Fit - Part I

Crunch in Bed:
  • Before you even get out of bed in the morning, do 10 stomach crunches while lying flat on your mattress.
  • Increase daily by one until you get up to 100.
  • Think you'll never get there? Try it.
  • You may eventually have to set your clock to wake up 15 minutes earlier, a small price to pay for a flatter stomach.

Happiness - Part II - Quality of Life

  • Making time for yourself and self-care is worth doing, even when it requires changing a few things around, because it promotes good health and improves the quality of daily life.
  • Quality of life is part of the recipe for happiness, but it is also an outcome of a lifestyle that incorporates a reasonable level of self-care.
  • The lifestyle changes you make to improve your health should increase the quality of your daily life to the fullest extent possible. They should somehow make you feel good.
  • Even people who say they "hate" exercise say they enjoy the way they feel after an exercise session...relaxed, invigorated and renewed.

My fellow 30ians - Part II: Body

The way you treat your body and the habits you get into in this decade, will play a big role in determining your health for the rest of your life. Check your cholesterol levels regularly, find some stress relieving mechanisms and keep as active as possible. You will be so grateful later on!

By our fourth decade on planet earth, most of us have learnt some new words. We’ve learnt some stuff about interest rates, bond repayment and ante-nuptial contracts. Things have started to get serious. What with needing to get the kids to soccer and ballet, getting to the PTA meeting and catching the cricket score, you’ve missed your workout … again.

This is the stage of your life that the habits – good or bad – over the previous years of your life come home to roost. Look at your waistline, and those of your friends. What’s happened to yours in the last ten years? Ideally, your trouser size should stay more or less the same. More importantly, it shouldn’t be more than size 36. Any larger than that and your run a heightened risk of heart disease.

What to Balance in your life?

There is no perfect “one-size fits all” balance you should be striving for. The best life balance is different for each of us because we all have different priorities and different needs.
  • Life Balance does not mean an equal balance.
  • Trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of our various work and personal activities is usually unrewarding and unrealistic.
  • Life is and should be more fluid than that.
  • Individual life balance will vary over time, the right balance for you today maybe different for you tomorrow. The right balance for you when you are single will be different when you marry, or if you have children; when you start a new career versus when you are nearing retirement.

Mental (mind)
o This includes the amount of stimulation and variety of interests and challenges we face, also our capacity for coping. We need to take time out to expand our knowledge in the fast moving world in which we live, trying to solve problems with a fixed knowledge set is not going to help or support us.
Activities: Thinking & Brainstorming, Reading, Writing, Learning, Working, Investment,...etc.

Physical (body)
o This takes account of our current energy levels, eating and exercise habits, illnesses and relaxation time. Many of us know what we should do and need to learn to take better care of our bodies. But how many of us get enough good quality sleep, eat a healthy diet, know the consequences of what we eat or take sufficient exercise.
Activities: Eating, Drinking, Practicing Sports, Handy Activities, Sex,...etc.

Emotional (heart)
o This is the level of humour and enjoyment and sense of security and trust we have, also our sense of feeling valued and having a positive outlook on life. We need to consider our emotional reactions and develop approaches to managing them, this results in positive outcomes which build relationships.
Activities: Playing, Watching Movies, Listing to Music, Loving,...etc.

Spiritual (soul)
o This involves having an awareness of things that matter, a feeling of congruence about life and a sense of purpose and of “who I am”. This is our inner self, the essence of our individuality. For our life to have meaning and purpose we need to understand our own beliefs and values. Activities: Praying, Fasting, Meditation, Helping other creatures...etc.
