860) Cairo Friendship Association !

On the same day 20 years ago (24.4.1994), I and some distinguished friends established a small student organization that grew really fast till winning the best Club at the AUC (American University in Cairo) and extended its chapters to 2 local Universities in Egypt (Ain Shams, & Helwan), and 3 International ones in Europe (Switzerland), North America (Canada), and Asia (Bahrain). It extended to have subsidiaries like the Pro-Action Team for Development, Arab Cultral Integration Conference, Publications (like CIFA, Thursday in Cairo,..etc), and mega projects (like Cairo Anniversary, Cairo Cultural Trips, ..etc) that attracted students and graduates from all over Egypt.

To all those who once took part in any of CFA activities in its golden age (1994-2000) including Pro-Action Team, Arab Cultural Integration Conference, CFA Egypt, or CIFA, I would like to deeeeeply thank you for your precious and sincere contributions that made us have such successful experience.

Special Thanks to CFA & its subsidiaries' icons: Yasmine Fahmy, Al Moataz Selmy, Karam El Tobgy,Sherif Saleh, Lana Gad, Mohamed Farag, Tamer Breakah, Mohamed Badran, Amr Youssef, Khaled Helmy, Rhonad Kotb, Nermine Abdel-Fattah, Noha Hatata, Mohamed El Batta, Noha Nasrat, Marwa Nosohy, Ahmed Farrag, Reham Farouk, Randa Hamza, Zaki Zahran, Tarek Genina, Mohamed El Ammamy, Nehal El Naggar, Waad El Hadidi, Mohamed Khamis, Khalil El Bawab, Ahmed Hafez, Kareem Farahat, Lana Malky, Tamer Mahdy and a lot more :)

I can say proudly that these days were some of the best days of my life.

600) Tribute to Life & Death; Tooti & Didi !

For those who joined the blog after the 500th post, I do dedicate every 100 post to someone.

This time I am dedicating it to 2 people who are very much related but have never seen each other. Actually one of them has just arrived right after the other left. I am dedicating this post to my grandma "mama didi" who left us in 2009 to a better world, and to my lovely niece "tooti" (nour) who arrived in 2009 too.

Didi and Nour are very close to me, and I have been wondering about the timing of their leaving and arrival. Is it a message from God to tell us that there will always be compensation someway, somehow, or it is just pure coincidence?!

In all cases I am always remembering my grandma, and LOVING the feeling of the uncle. Nour is a VERY fussy baby who needs 25 hours attention per day. Her father now is in Saudi, so I am her "Acting Father" now, and that is a new experience for me especially with such a young age. The good thing that I am the one whom she smile to the most, and we already have our song and dance :) I treat her as if she is 1 year old and she is less than 2 months old!

God Bless Nour and Rest Didi's soul in Heaven.

P.S. in the picture, I was so tired from pampering Noor all day on weekend, so we spontaneously took a nap together, and my sister couldn't pass the moment without capturing it :)

564) Their Laughter, & Our Tears!

How can their laughter, bring us close -actually into- tears!

Would you please thank God and be statisfied with what you have...

Be ambitious and try to get more but consider the more as a bonus. Your life shouldn't be planned on the bonus, you happiness shouldn't depend on the bonus. Don't let yourself go after the temptation of endless power and money, and know that with everything you get, there is something you let go of, so it is better to let it go yourself!

Real Happiness is in giving, not only getting!

2,398 cities, towns and municipalities in 83 countries have already committed to VOTE EARTH for Earth Hour 2009, as part of the worlds first global election between Earth and global warming

I urge all my blog followers and readers to turn off the lights tonight from 8:30pm to 9:30pm their local time.

SHARE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), held on the last Saturday of March, that asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. It was pioneered by WWF Australia and the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007,and achieved worldwide participation in 2008.

545) Watch out for what you give women!!

Since March is recognized as the Women's month (I don't know why by the way), and since 70% of this blog audience are women (I don't know why bardo but glad it is not the opposite), I want to share with you this quote about the importance of what we (men) give women, and what we get in return...
"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

I think that this is very ture, isn't it?

It is Ramadan and the spiritual feeling are higher than any month. In the short-term they will be delivering food to relocated families who have lost their homes and belongings. I have to say, everyone, that the ineptness of the 'system' in the rescue effort is shameful and has caused a lot of anger in the community; but the tireless efforts of local youth and NGO members who have gathered to help gives me hope for this country yet. They are really quite impressive.

May Allah bless all who died, and cure those who are still in hospitals, and us all thawab el mosa3ada.

I support the Pay Forward Campaign (el PFC)!

I have seen part of the great movie again yesterday- slept while watching- and I said to myself, I will have a post in the morning to ask people to start this campaign. However, it seems that the concept has tempted Bo2bo2 too, so he post it. Anyway, it is not important who is posting first, the important thing is to adopt this concept.

The original concept is to pay forward something big to 3 different people that you don't know. I'd say let us start with 2 people only to make it easier, even 1 but let's start GIVING.

Amir -a blogger 2adeem :)- has added a html code to add to your site or blog if you are supporting this. http://bo2bo2.blogspot.com/2007/03/pay-it-forward-like-movie.html

Comments are open here and at Bo2Bo2 land to share thoughts or even experiences for the ones who already started.

P.S> as we succeeded togther in the PDC before let's succeed in the PFC :)
