Anonymous said...

Yasmin, you just mentioned my favourite part of the song, dear.
i didnt want to write it becasue it is sad and i didnt want to colour the mood here with gray :-)
but thank you for mentioning. i love this part.
as to your answer i will just put a part of a poem i adore for Nizar Qabbani

as if it is an inevitable part of love to get hurt and still believe it is the most wonderful of all experiences.

abadan, some challenges at work where I have to "Educate" my clients some Business Etiquette.

Anonymous said...

this is a catastrophal mission in itself :-)
when i have to do so, i do it knowingly that it might not work out and i might not reach the results i wish, and dont set much hope on their understanding or cooperation.
one of my clients that i have to deal with is Arab Contractors. you can't imagine what that means. and i am dealing with the Managerial level :-(

first rule i am trying to teach them is that an email needs to be answered and a bill must be paid on due date :-))))))
ay khedma. do you need any help?

Mohaly said...

Same case...el moseeba that it is always the managerial level.

Same case...el moseeba that it is always the managerial level.

Anonymous said...

interesting :-)
if the managerial level doesn't have such "common sense", how on earth did they reach this level?
the more catastrophic thought would be how do the "normal" employees think then?
anyway, it is irrelevant if we are talking about private or public secotr, it is a poisoned thinking way that is widely spread and that needs to be immediately removed from ppls heads.
it is one of the reasons why i want Mubarak put on trial becasue of treason. his regime deliberetly kept ppl in ignorance so that they are easily led in the direction they wish.

Mohaly said...

It worked ...
seems that I am gonna write an article about Egyptian managers..

Mohaly said...

Weird that no one wondered that I was that excited to go to a wedding in Egypt knowing how much I do hate to death weddings in Egypt.

Anonymous said...

there is no need to wonder:
- first you mentioned that the groom is your best friend. so no wonder you want to attend his wedding. other than the case before, where the groom was your cousin, so it is a family obligation.
- second: you mentioned going home to "wash out" the incident's effect, then you were determined not to end this night that way and to maintain the happy mood and
so it is a kind of therapy you put yourself in to recover from the fear, shock or whatever effect the incident had on your soul. a kind of re-viving the circumstances again to avoid the "complex" of passing through the same street again.

egyptian managers are a complex-built personalities.
throughout my practical employed years, and although i never worked directly with an egyptian manager- they drove me crazy.
definetely it needs a seperate post. i could go on forever telling you about them :-)

Mohaly said...

scary how can u read me.

Mohaly said...

how come I didnt feel that bad when attacked, and I do feel extremely bad after a discussion about marriage with my mother !!!

Anonymous said...

Because the attack comes from a stranger who barely touched something materialistic that no mstter how expensive, isnt important to you.
While the discussion with your mother touches a deep wish in your heart.it is a very sincere one of yours, however over which you have no control. It is simply nassib.you cant please your mother and follow her advise nor can you convince her thst your heart didnt find his soulmate yet. I know how painful her words can be. Im sorry you have to go through this. But good news is you are not alone :-D

Mohaly said...

It is exactly as you say ... and yes it is painful and deep.

Mesh scary wala hagah. I feel the same way about attending a friend's wedding bc we choose our friends freely, thts why our feelings for them are genuine and pure.while family members are a kind of obligatory psrt of our life tht we hsve to deal with. Attending a friends wedding means sharing the happiness of someone we love, which consequently mskes me happy. While a family wedding usually is a series of sarcastic events and a number of bad comments from aunts and uncles starting with the traditional 3o2balek and ending with mom sorry look over her face telling me i am a hopeless case looser tht is killing her 'men el gham'.

Anonymous said...

I am sorry to have put you through this psinful snalysis. All i can tell you is that you are correct in your choice.you wont fit in a traditional marriage.she has to touch your heart, otherwise you will be misrrable. I tried it and it ws a painful exprrience and i felt bsd about causing seone pain for years.stick to whst your heart whispers to you. Maybe u can recheck the conditions uyou set for your wife-to-be.other than tht wait for your nassib
