581) Diab or Tamer .. Just Enjoy It !!

I don't understand the fierce war taking place on the internet between Amr Diab's and Tamer Hosny's fans! it is becoming redicules begad! People have the right to choose their favorite music, signer, ...etc but i can see that people spend more time attacking each other more than listening to the songs and enjoying the music!

I am a fan of Amr Diab since his early albums, and I love his 90s songs. I can spot many beautiful well-prepared songs in his new album specially the ones tackling the non-common issues like friendship after love. Inspite of that, I blame him for dedicating all 12 songs for love, while in his age, he should include more songs about family (like the one Hisham Abbas did for his son), friendship, even polictics (like Tarateer El 3esely),...etc.

On the other hand I don't like Tamer Hosny not because he is bad but because simply I can't relate to him, what he says, or even the composition of his music. This doesn't mean that someone is better than the other. I don't think they should be compared in the first place, same thing like Abel Halim, and Amr Diab, or Um Kalthoum & Abdel Halim.

Why don't everyone enjoys what he/she wants, and let others enjoy theirs too! wala kol 7aga ba2t Ahly we Zamalek!

580) Will Egypt turn into a Theocratic Country?!

I am against the concept of "Theocratic Country" where people are ruled in the name of God and all the power is centralized in one hand who has divine guidance. I know that the power still in one hand even in an Autocratic regime like ours, but theocratic is even worse as we don't have even the privilege of arguing!

That is why I don't like the Ekhwan Moslmeen movement. What I hate about it is the political agenda they have under the name of Allah. I consider this hypocricy, they want power like everyone else but they want in a way that doesnt keep a space for anyone else.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH, has said that we know more about running our everyday operations because it is something that is subject to change all the time and there is no one size fits all. So, dealing with everyday challenges is a pure civil activity as long as we didn't surpass the general divine limits. Why do we need then someone to rule in the name of God!

The question that I don't know an accurate answer for though is why El Ekhwan still exists although they have been banned for more than 60 years! Sometimes because the ruler uses them like what Sadat did with Omar El Telmisani, sometimes because they play on the basic needs of the people (food, shelter..etc), but still I can't find an overall answer, and please don't tell me because "El Eslam howa el 7al" as it is too general to fit an agenda or a strategy.

I am just afraid that with all the current disappointemts in the Egyptian society, and as they say "fe ghafla men al zaman" we end up as a Theocratic country, will we? Hopefully not.

579) 3asr El Hareem !!!

Do you know that we are the 3rd generation since pre-history that doesn't have "gawary" or "melk el yamin". For thousands of years men could legitimately have the right to have relations with women other than his wife. Now all that is over .. Is this good or bad news?!

P.S. lately I have met many people and read more than an article longing to the Hareem Age and feeling bad that they weren't living at that time!

577) God Bless Marwa El Sherbini !

I don't think that the reaction of the Egyptians is exagerated as some people are claiming. I don't know if the word "glad' is appropriate here, but I am glad that at last we can show the world that terrorsim is not an Islamic or Arabic product, and our blood is not cheap or less important than the rest of the world.

Marwa was a young promising Egyptian girl who was just staring a small family and all her fault -from her killer's point of view- was that she is muslim and wearing Hijab! How fanatic is that!

In August 2008 Alex W. abused Marwa in a Dresden playground as “islamist”, “terrorist” and “bitch”, obviously of her wearing an Islamic headscarf. According to some sources Alex W. stated “You don’t deserve to live.” This was the reason that the Public Prosecutor filed an appeal, to achieve a higher degree of penalty with regard to the open xenophobic background of the felony. When the appeal was in negotiation, Alex W. surprisingly stabbed Marwa 18 times and so killed her..

The thing I don't understand is that how come such a scene happen in a German Court!!!!!

May Allah bless Marwa and her family, and we did the right thing, OUR VOICES HAVE TO BE HEARD!

576) In Love & Loving II !

It is soooo good to the extent that I can't even comment!
Mohaly

.. مثلما نحبهم

573) Good Bye Pop Legend !

Although Michael Jackson hasn't been around for almost a decade, but I think he has contributed one way or another in shaping part of the artistic personality of my generation (1970s). The word pop-music is directly linked to MJ in my mind. I think MJ in western music, and Amr Diab in arabic music were the music icons of our generation.

This guy has lead a misrable life, specially the last 10 years. I don't know why did I feel that, but I felt "makbos" when I heared the news, but when I started reading the readers comments in the the Arab website, I was furious! People are soooo shallow and mainly fighting if he will go to hell or heaven as if they have "tawkeel" from God to decide about that.

If you liked MJ, just feel sorry and keep his songs; if you don't then just ignore the whole thing, but please don't play "God"... listen to his song "Allah Rahim"!

How much money is enough?
How much money can make people satified and not worried?
What can someone do with 20 billion that he can't do with 10 billion?

Is the answer: "Infinity"?
Then it is pointless! as you will never reach your goal and be a slave for your "wants" rather than "needs" ...
very confusing... how much is "too much"?

570) Why is it hard to be CLEAN ?!

I realized that all the precautions to avoid Swine Flu are simply about "BEING CLEAN" and I also realized that the danger in Egypt is not because of the flu itself as much as not having the "being clean" culture.. I kept on thinking and I wondered Why aren't the majority of the Egyptian people in the 21st century clean? what have led to this? If the religions tell us to be clean, and all creatures care about being clean, so why aren't we? why are many of us:

  • throwing garbage?

  • spitting?

  • even pissing in streets?

  • not washing hands?

  • not washing teeth even once per day?

  • not showering every day?

  • not cleaning after us in public toilets?

  • smelling awful? and many other examples..

  • I am not talking about everyone but in 3 non-successive days I counted the people I saw and this was the result:
    • Day 1: have seen/met 76 .... 21 clean, 55 doing one or more of the above.
    • Day 2: have seen/met 53 .... 23 clean, 40 doing one or more of the above.
    • Day 3 (weekend): have seen/met 35 .. 17 clean, 18 doing one or more of the above.
so clean is always the minority!
My question again, WHY? and what led to this?

    566) Islam: Quantity or Quality?!

Take a look at this video produced as a wake-up call to save the west from the expected domination of Islam in less than a generation. My questions is: Do we measure the success of Islam in the number of its followers or the quality of life we produce to the world?
If we - muslims- became the largest religion in the world by 2015 as expected, is this a good or bad?! I guess the answer depends on what these new muslims have to say to the world. If it is peace and accepting others then that is good news, but if it is terrorism and Qaida-like muslims, then that is terrible news. I hope that we can have a role in putting things in the right place and let the world know the true meaning of Islam, and they took the first step... Obama's visit next Thursday, but that is another talk...

How can their laughter, bring us close -actually into- tears!

Would you please thank God and be statisfied with what you have...

Be ambitious and try to get more but consider the more as a bonus. Your life shouldn't be planned on the bonus, you happiness shouldn't depend on the bonus. Don't let yourself go after the temptation of endless power and money, and know that with everything you get, there is something you let go of, so it is better to let it go yourself!

    562) FUN ::: A Tale of Two Girls !!

Last week, Tamer was in Cairo and we had breakfast together in Cilantro. We were sitting close to the restroom. While we were sipping our coffee we found 2 girls (early 20s) going together into the restroom (single restroom)! At this point we weren't paying much attention.
Then they spent more than 20 mins together, and when 2 little girls were bored from waiting, they started knocking on the door, till it was partially opened. The little girls was kind of astonished for 10 seconds, then looked to each other and left quickly!!!! Now, we were really paying attention!
Then when the 2 girls were leaving, another 2 girls were entering and passing by the restroom, and gave the first couple a VERY weird look!! At this point we went nuts wondering what is going on and we missed!!

Tamer and I were really wondering about:
    1. Why the hell 2 girls go together to a single bathroom?
    2. What did the 2 little girls see and made then run away?
    3. Why were the entering 2 girls looking at them this way?

P.S. Please don't tell us it is non of your business coz it is a public place, and it seemed that we were the only people who didn't get what is going on!

    561) How much do you Love yourself ?!

I was wondering, how far do we love ourselves?

Do we love it more than anything in the world?
Do we love it to the extent that we can sacrifice anything for its sake?
Do we love it so much but less than other things that we can sacrifice ourselves for?
Do we love as we love other things?
Do we love it the least?
or Do we love it Not?

What is right? ... if you love yourself so much you will be accused of being selfish and if you don't love yourself, you won't be able to give love to others.. I personally see that we should love ourselves first, and build on this love to develop winning relations with others; i.e loving ourselves but not on the expense of others..
