320) Choosing Job Matrix!

I was sending an email to a new dear friend yesterday to help in guiding her choosing between her offered jobs. I thought of sharing it with the rest of you:

If you are confused between jobs, you can do the choice matrix (that actually needs a session not a post) quickly keda:
1. List all criteria you see important in a job (career path, place, salary, environment….etc)
2. Put a weight for each criterion (20%, 30%...etc)
3. Give a score for each in a scale from 1 to 10.
4. Multiply the score with the weight (e.g u got 7/10 and it weights 20% then you score 14% (0.7*20%))
5. Add up the criteria’s scores.
6. Do the same thing for the other job.
7. Compare the final results, and go for the higher score!

It uses more rational flow than the direct choice or chaotic thinking, and el 2arkam mabtekdebsh :)

Let me know if you need any further explanation.

148) Honna Al Kahira - Part III

These guys (with the bread on bycle) always amaze me, it is really hard to keep the balance with 1 hand, imagine BOTH.

I remember in Engineering, we got a question in Fluid Mechanics about the aerodynamic effect on the bread temperature inside and outside the box in such case...I remember I passed bel3afya (ghaleban "C or C+") in that course, was one of the worst :)

Most FAQs...in Job Interviews!

Would you Tell Me About Yourself?

  • The interviewer does not want to know your life history.
  • He or she wants you to explain how your background relates to doing the job.

What Are Your Major Strengths?

  • This is a direct question with a little hidden meaning.
  • These are the skills employers are most concerned about.

What Are Your Major Weaknesses?

  • This is a trick question. Most job seekers don't handle this one well.
  • If you discuss what you don't do well, you may not get the job. If you say you have no weaknesses, the interviewer won't believe you.
  • The interviewer wants to know that you have learned to overcome them so that they don't affect your work.

Why Should We Hire You?

  • If you don't have a good reason why someone should hire you, why will anyone?
  • This question is not often asked so clearly, but it is "the" question behind many other interview questions.

How Does Your Previous Experience Relate to the Job?

  • Requires a direct response.
  • The employer is really asking, "Can you prove you have the experience and skills to do the job?"
  • The question is directly related to the employer's expectation on skills and training.
