547) 6th of October on March 31st!

I am not convinced of what they call National day "Eid Kawmy" of the governorates, as if the governorate is a separate nation or race! but anyway, this is not about should we celebrate that or not.

I was just wondering about the new governorate (6th of October). The governor has been spending his time lately in searching for a day that will be the National day of the governorate!!!! Imagine how silly it is that the only governorate in Egypt that is named after a day of glory is searching for a day to celebrate other than the OBVIOUS day in its name!

You know what day they chose? March 31st!!!!

1. 7ad fahem 7aga?!
2. Why the hell they didn't ask the people living there?

2,398 cities, towns and municipalities in 83 countries have already committed to VOTE EARTH for Earth Hour 2009, as part of the worlds first global election between Earth and global warming

I urge all my blog followers and readers to turn off the lights tonight from 8:30pm to 9:30pm their local time.

SHARE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), held on the last Saturday of March, that asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. It was pioneered by WWF Australia and the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007,and achieved worldwide participation in 2008.

545) Watch out for what you give women!!

Since March is recognized as the Women's month (I don't know why by the way), and since 70% of this blog audience are women (I don't know why bardo but glad it is not the opposite), I want to share with you this quote about the importance of what we (men) give women, and what we get in return...
"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

I think that this is very ture, isn't it?

544) Save the Source of Life!

Yesterday was the International day for water. Water is the next world wide war. We are taking it for granted in Egypt, and we use it EXTREMELY unwisely. We have to think about our children in order not to reach this stage (in video) someday.

We shouldn't use much water in cleaning cars, filling bath tub, Golf,...etc. Water is very precious and it won't be cheap as it is now. 10 years from now the water bill will be closer the electricity bill, we have to wake up before it is too late.

Life is precious, and water is the source of Life..

543) To Mama with Love!

The only thing I envy women for is being mothers!

To all the mothers on mothers weekend:
Thank you for all what you have done for us, it was a long journey of thinking, worries, sacrifice, and above all love...May God bless you all..

To Mama:
Every single success in my life, I owe it to you ... Nothing can pay you back, I love you :)

To Grandma:
It may be your last mothers' day... I will miss you a lot :(

To all young mothers:
Take care of your kids, give them your love & wisdom, and let go of them but keep watching.. you are the core of any hope for the development of our society.

HAPPY MOTHERS WEEKEND :)

541) The American Idols & Idiots!

I am not sure that we have the right to mock as we will be surprized if we asked similar questions to the "ordinary" Egyptians in the street!

We can't consider Americans as idiots; they definitely have a relatively low knowledge about the world when compared to Europeans, but this doesn't mean they are idiots as some people claim. I can't deny there are some super idiots in USA and sometime they become the president for 8 years! but this doesn't deny the fact that the biggest percentage of the people who contributed to the development of the world in the last 100 years were Americans too, they were Idols not idots.

They should try to know more about other nations (as Obama is doing now), and we should help them to get to know more about us, and we should read more about the real America not the Hollywood America as well in order to have a common threshold for a better understanding.

The more understanding, the less problems.. but taking into consideration that there will always be problems!!

540) Human Males & Sex !

According to the Kinsey Report (Sexual Behavior in the Human Male), 54 percent of men think about sex every day or several times a day, 43 percent a few times a week or a few times a month, and 4 percent less than once a month.

I was wondering why most of men are always thinking and seeking sex, while most of women don't do that frequently or sometimes even at all !

539) Living Like An Egyptian - Episode 3!

Although there are more important topics in this series, but I think that turning into robots may lead to cancel the word "living" because robots don't live, they just function.

LIVING LIKE A ROBOT!

Egyptians - rich or poor- are living like robots these days. In AUC, I feel it with my graduate students. In training, I feel it with my trainees. In consulting, I feel it with my clients. Even in my writings, I feel that people (including myself) are not that hot and excited as they used to..

I can see it in the Gym from fellows and personal trainers, I can see it with the maid, in the supermarket, in the taxi, in the mosque, even with the nurses in the hospital. Everyone seems to be under hypnosis. They are not sad, they are not happy, they are NOT THERE AT ALL!

May be the problem in my eyes, and not with the people! I don't know. All what I know that I am not happy with seeing my country people as robots. Robots don't create, don't develop, don't challenge, Robots just follow orders even if the order was self-destruction!

I really Urge Dr.Galal Amin, to publish a new edition of his book Whatever happened to the Egyptians covering the period since he first published it, till now 2000-2009.

P.S. I wish all a Happy Mawlid El Nabawy.

537) The Curious Case of Life!

Couple of weeks ago I have watched the Curious Case of Benjamin Button that won 3 Oscars, and was nominated for 13 (Brad Pitt should have won the Acting Award). It is really one of the most beautiful and meaningful films I have seen in the 21st century.

Other than the great production in all aspects (acting, directing, make-up,..etc), the most important is the hidden question the author is asking; would it have been better to life our lives in reverse order, where we grow younger instead of growing older? If we were born old, then become younger every year, would life have been better? This is the real morale about the movie that was written 90 years ago!

My personal opinion is that it doesn't not the matter which direction is our life heading as much as we are making the best out of what we have. I guess the film supported that as well where it highlighted that the best part of our lives when wisdom meets action; i.e. in 30s & 40s, so let's make the best out of it.
What about you?

536) It is the Life in our Years!

The past couple of days I spent between people who are either dying or dead. Life and all its problems suddenly looses its meaning, and you know what, the only thing left in the memory at these horrible moments is the good time with this dying person.

As Linclolin said:
It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

P.S. Thank you for your support, I am better, she is still alive but I don't think for long as it is an actue case. She is my second mother. Thank God for everything.
