414) Yes & No!

In post 398, I asked you to satrt saying no but I didnt mean to say it alone coz No without yes is war as Willian Ury Said.

Yes builds communities....No builds identities
Yes connects ... No protects
Yes for peace ... No for justice

We need the Yes as much as we need the No. It is all about using the right time and place for saying yes or no! So never say yes when you mean no!

413) What Men Want - Episode 7 !

After the battle of the sexes in the last episode, I was thinking of not tackling another debatable issue in men "wants" but when I thought about it I found out the hardest part is over :)

This episode is about "Challenge" and again a nice coincidence to write about while I am now in Alexandria that is known for its challenging women ;)

Men love a challenging woman, someone who keeps them on their toes. This is because men are generally lazy in relationships once they feel they're in secure territory or in other words, has taken the woman for granted. When a man is challenged so he does something about it.
If you want to keep your man interested, keep him challenged but don't push it hard coz it may cause the same negative effect of chasing him all the time and killing his freedom. Don't give him everything at once, gradual and make sure that you are getting something in return (doesn't have to be one-by-one but at least don't just give and give without taking).
So Challenge him but don't ever Neglect him.

412) Hear the music before the song is over!

Life is the path, the strategy we are pursing in the way to our goal / destination. Life is not a problem to be solved or a game to be won. We sometimes over think/worry about how far we from the starting point or the future point, and STOP to think what to do. Life isn't about stopping...it is the stream that has to keep flowing till the end BUT with a pace that allows to to enjoy it .... !

I'd like to share this poem - author is not known-, but I got it from a dying little lady (16 years old with cancer), and I felt ashamed of myself beside her wonderful persistence to live every moment to the full!

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you get a reply?

When the days are done,
do you lie in your bed,
With the next 100 chores,
Running through your head?

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
and let a good friendship die,
Cause you never had time,
To call and say "Hi"?

When you run so fat to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day
It is like an unopened gift thrown away

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower.
Hear the music.
Before the song is over.

I realized now why do we ask kids what do you wanna be when you grow up, we are just asking them to supply us with ideas to enjoy life coz we have ran out of it!

411) What Men Want - Episode 6 !

P.S. Is it a coincidence that episode sex, ops six, is being written from Sharm ;)

This "want" for sure won't surprize any of you, "Sex".

Men know what they like in bed and tend to stick to it. The adventurous sexual appetite in most men isn't there even if they are convinced it is. Men in reality are quite conservative. Sexually adventurous has nothing to do with having lots of partners and more to do with the things they will try with the same partner.

We have a big contradiction in Egypt regarding women and sex! Men want women to be somehow experienced or know how to please him, and in the same time someone who is a sex naive, and consider this "naive" as a sign of well-mannered female. I really hate men who classify women some for sex and others for marriage!!

I see sex as the ultimate peak of showing love, so sex without love is a short-sighted fun mechanism. Many women in Egypt are raised perceiving sex as a taboo, and afraid of it. It should be treated like food and drink. It is desired and should be wanted but within the limits set by God.

I'd consider sex to a marriage like salary to a job. It is not the only- and may not be the most important- criteria in choosing the job, but you cant accept the job without it!

410) Sharm vs. Hurghada!

I used to go to sharm el shiekh once or twice for fun from mid-90s to 2005 then shifted to hurghada when i started having business there. i have always prefered sharm over hurghada..
I have been in sharm for couple of days in business now, and for the 1st time, i start feeling that i feel more comfortable in hurghada!!

Does this have to do with age, or because i have lots of friends in hurghada, or coz sharm became toooo commercial!!

409) What Men Want - Episode 5 !

Men want someone who is supportive. Many women are quick to criticize men in their behavior, career and set about trying to change and mould them (sometimes they do!). This is a crucial mistake.
Men can be manipulated yes, but they see their partnerships as support systems. The best relationships work both ways in terms of support. Where a woman is not able or willing to give that support and is too quick to criticize then she may lose her man or at least will push him to seek support 3and wa7da tanya and then te2ol el regala khayna!

407) Egypt News - Al Ahram E-News 2108!!

I was looking over the internet yesterday and found out an 100 years old article from the Al-Ahram E-news Daily. It tells you something about Egypt at these good old days:

18-5-2108, New Cairo:

Politics
- Mr. Haytham Waleed, Egyptian Vice-President, has paid a visit to the new industrial zone outside the giant city of Hurghada. The new industrial zone is the first completely-pollutant free in the Middle-East and expected to be the leading zone specially after the decision of many multinational factories to move their operations to Egypt instead of Dubai because of the low taxes and great commercial environment.
- Mrs. Christine Ramsis, the Egyptian Prime Minister, has represented Egypt in the 120th international human rights conference. It is well known that Egypt is one of the top human rights countries in the globe, and being represented by the prime minister is a strong proof of it.
- President Mubarak has asked the prime minister to present a plan of introducing the governorates of Heliopolis, Haram, and Imbabam raising the number of Great Cairo Governorates into 13 governorate: Cairo, Giza, Helwan, Shubra, Qalubiya, 6th October, New Cairo, Fustat, Maadi, Nile, and the new Heliopolis, Haram, & Imbaba.

Sports:
- Egypt and Germany in a charity match; World Cup 2106 winner (Germany), and Ex-winner 2102 (Egypt), are playing next week for charity. Money will go for rebuilding and compensation of the affected cities by global warming in north Egypt.
- Egypt is almost finished with all the buildings needed for the 2108 Olympics in Marina City.

Entertainment:
- Egyptian academy awards celebrates its 50th Anniversary and tributes the anniversary to Ahmed Zaky Haitham Ahmed Zaky.
- The 65th home theatre Festival started yesterday in the new Under-Nile Opera House.
- The legendary Sabah will be signing "Dalou3a -2ana" tonight live from the preservation room in Dar El Fouad.
- The Egyptian Actors Syndicate decides to stop 2 of the porno-section stars & members because they are shooting documentary films about the deterioration of the street hookers in Egypt.

Society
- After long waiting, the 1st wedding in Egypt since 2 years was celebrated yesterday. This may be an indication of people turning back into marriage after experiencing different lifestyles!
- Egyptian Ex. First lady Dija Mubarak (125 years), and grandmother of the current President Mohamed Hosni Gamal Mubarak has died yesterday after long and successful life.
- The Ministry of Blogging is throwing a party tomorrow @8pm in the old Heliopolis City. You are all invited!

Have a nice day :)

406) What Men Want - Episode 4!

The 4th "want" is "sense of humor".

There isnt any man who likes or even tolerates "el set el nekadeya". Men want women with a great sense of humor. Women often come across as uptight or too bothered by too many small details.
When you sometimes hear that a girl is 'one of the boys', this means that she is able to fit in with their humor and is sociable and fun to be with. Such women are extremely attractive to many men.

Men want to have a good time and relax when not working and so their ideal partners are women who are able to do the same. Men need some buffer zones between their different roles, and el set eli mestaneya wara el bab wont fit in here!

404) What Men Want - Episode 3!

The third want is "Trust"

Many men are not sincere, but some women are not trustworthy or faithful, and this kind of girls are increasing everyday. Men are looking for a trustworthy girl, someone they can have faith in and someone who will be there for them.

Some flirting can be accepted from a man, but when a woman flirts with another man, it really gives a hell of different meaning no matter what we say about equality between genders. It is like that here, in the East, and the West as well.

A man can never forgive a woman being unfaithful and so he is looking for someone who he really does trust.

402) What Men Want - Episode 2!

May be the most important "want" is love...

This may surprise many women but men like to love and they like very much being loved in return.....

Men are used to the love and care by their mothers, and when they are adults they want to continue on having that (from their partners) and adding the physical love as well...
It is not easy to find a loving woman and it is very noticeable how many men try and hang on when they think they have found their Miss Right....

I personally see that love is the fuel of any relationship whether it comes before or after marriage...

400) Tribute to Baba Aly!!

As I usually tribute every 100th post, I will tribute this post to my late father on his 63rd Birthday today. It has been 13 years since he left this world, and I am still missing him as if it was last year!

May you rest in heaven, and someday we will be together again in-shaa-Allah

399) What Men Want - Episode 1 !

Based on the audience request in post 397, I am starting the What Men Want series, we rabena yostor!

I can save time and say Men want everything in one woman, and I will not be lying. But for the sake of discussion and analysis let's take it one "want" at a post.
  • So the most common "want" is that Men are seeking a woman who is attractive to them, some are seeking "Cute", some seeking "Beautiful", other seeking "Mozzah".
  • Women may argue that men can be so shallow and that looks could matter so much but......
  • Men aren't necessarily looking for a model and believe it or not most of men men don't like women who weigh 50 kgs.
  • But men do want a woman who takes pride in their appearance...though not excessively.
  • Men are proud of having a wife / girlfriend who looks good and don't believe any man who says otherwise.

P.S1: I am not talking about my "wants", I am talking about what men wants all together.
P.S2: I am a man ;)

396) Contradictions in Our Lives - El 7okoma!!!!

This time it is not a picture, this time it is the government!

Nazif @11am: There is no increase by any mean in the prices
Nazif @5pm: Increase in Gasoline, Licence, Education, ....etc

howa meen eli beyokom el balad elzabt!!
Mubarak decieds to raise people 30% then the government comes (1 day after the potential strike) and decides to increase almost everything by the same amount!

I agree on increasing the licence for luxury cars, increasing for private education, private jets..etc but gasoline means everything else will increase and we cant increase our salaries and fees just like that to cope with it.

394) 3ayza Atgawez Book!

I have been reading the first edition of Modewanet El Sherouk, specifically "3ayza Atgawez" for Ghada Abdel Al. The idea of publishing very popular blogs in a book is great

Ghada has been tackling the issue of females not getting married in Egypt and passing on her experience through a character (herself) called "Bride". The book is hilarious, and she really is very honest and reflects the reality of what happens in the Egyptian families, and the potential husbands in gawz el saloonat.
But as a guy, there is the other side of the story that I think should be covered in a counter-book may be called "mesh 3ayez atgawez" because lots of us as guys lost faith in marriage and became afraid (for many reasons) to hook our lives up with an Egyptian "family" till the rest of our lives!
