Life is the path, the strategy we are pursing in the way to our goal / destination. Life is not a problem to be solved or a game to be won. We sometimes over think/worry about how far we from the starting point or the future point, and STOP to think what to do. Life isn't about stopping...it is the stream that has to keep flowing till the end BUT with a pace that allows to to enjoy it .... !
I'd like to share this poem - author is not known-, but I got it from a dying little lady (16 years old with cancer), and I felt ashamed of myself beside her wonderful persistence to live every moment to the full!
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you get a reply?
When the days are done,
do you lie in your bed,
With the next 100 chores,
Running through your head?
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
and let a good friendship die,
Cause you never had time,
To call and say "Hi"?
When you run so fat to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day
It is like an unopened gift thrown away
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower.
Hear the music.
Before the song is over.
I realized now why do we ask kids what do you wanna be when you grow up, we are just asking them to supply us with ideas to enjoy life coz we have ran out of it!

Beautiful ya Mohaly, very touching, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe really get swamped with tons of stuff to do at work and think that life will stop if we take a vacation or break.
What really caught me is the dying little lady.

wow a very touching piece...it makes one ponder his/her approach to life. So sad she is so young, I've seen so many bright and beautiful children fighting that horrible illness this past year on my rotations.
ReplyDeletecheers :D
