I am wondering what is right for Mubarak to boycott the Doha summit earlier this week? On one hand, Qatar is misbehaving and jumping over files being handled by Egypt, and they need a statement that shows them this is not right, but on the other hand, the summit is not about Qatar, but about the Arab world and its challenges ... I personally see that Mubarak should have gone and delivered a very strong and assertive speech, and make use of "his experience" with Arabs to have better outcome of the "reconciliation summit!!".... wala eih?

I think that Mubarak should have attended and say that it will be the last time he will attend coz Arab Summits simply SUCKS!
Actually not attending is better.
It was a circus! Actually most of the Arab summits are just circus performance but this time it had no rhythm.
If he went he was going to acknowledge en Qatar has a weight.

سأستعير تشبيهك وأقول انها مريض يعيش على أجهزة التنفس الصناعى وبدلا من علاج المرض الذى أدى الى اصابته بفشل التنفس فنحن نحاول علاج المضاعفات والنتيجة بقاء المريض مريضا والمرض الرئيسى هنا هو غياب الرؤية والأهداف المشتركة وان ادعوا غير ذلك
ثانيا: ما هى طبيعة الاجتماعات ومن يحضرها؟؟
الاجتماعات هى جلسات نُظهر فيها غير ما نبطن أحيانا فيبدو لك الود والحب والاتفاق والحقيقة لم تعد كذلك وأحيانا أخرى هى جلسات لتبادل الاتهامات والنتيجة مزيد من الخلاف ..الاجتماعات تعقد حاليا لمجرد حفظ ماء الوجه وعادة تؤدى الى مزيد من الاوضاع المؤسفة
اما من يحضرون الاجتماعات فهم مجموعة من الزعماء المصابين بقصر النظر والذين يعملون وفقا لسياسة " أحيينى النهاردة وموتنى بكرة" والدليل فشل خططهم للتنمية بلادهم واصلاحها من الداخل فهم لا يعرفون معنى التخطيط بعيد المدى وانما يعملون وفقا لاهداف وقتية لن تحقق لهم الا انتصارات وهمية
اما مبدأهم الأخر فهو " أنا ومن بعدى الطوفان" فكل منهم يسعى لانقاذ نفسه بطريقته لانهم يعلمون جيدا وضعهم المتردى وهم غير مقتنعين بأن الانقاذ يجب أن يضم الجميع لاننا ركاب سفينة واحدة من المستحيل أن ينجو أحدنا بمعزل عن الأخرين وان بدا لفترة قصيرة انه سينجو
أما عن حضور مبارك؟؟
سعى قطر للزعامة له مبرراته وهو نتيجة لغيابنا ولا بد أن تراجع تصريحات مبارك أثناء أزمة غزة لتعلم أنها أيضا اصابتها الشيخوخة وأنه قد تخلى طواعية عن دور الزعيم ولا أريد للأخرين أن يفهموا اننى من دعاة الحرب على العكس تماما انا مع السلام الذى يحفظ لى كرامتى وقوتى ولا يجعلنى مطمعا وليس بالضرورة أن يكون بديل الحرب الاستسلام فنحن لدينا نقاط قوة كثيرة غير السلاح يمكننا استغلالها ان اردنا
لا أعتقد أن حضوره كان سيصنع فارقا كبيرا
وفى النهاية لا تلوم القزم اذا حاول الصعود على كتف العملاق اذا كان العملاق قد اختار أن ينام نوما عميقا
انت على فكرة بتسأل أسئلة صعبة؟ ولا ايه؟:)

Interesting picture, I loved the 'Arab League' lifeguard's green shorts, the band-aids on his lifesaver, the swim fins, his athletic figure and mostly his courage to jump into the turbulent sea of insanity to commit suicide.
I agree with Mohaly & Omar, he should have gone and told them kefaya 3aleeko keda.

Yes he should have gone, not for any thing but because simply if someone doesn't like a situation, boycotting it would never be a wise thing to do!!
On the other hand, Mubarak went there allover the past years, but guess what? no body noticed!!

So of got some who voted for confrontation, some who voted for avoidance, some who voted for "it does not make a difference," and some who are not gonna vote no matter what you ask. It is interesting that 'None' of us voted for the possibility of "Reconciliation." Maybe we are just not ready to reconcile yet or maybe reconciling is pointless. But hey, I just remembered that manakholia got the secret that will solve all our problems - we have got to find him.
Good Recap Mona, and yes I don't think that Arabs are really serious about reconciliation.
For Manakholia .. Disappeared in weird circumstances after the serious announcement!
