i love who i am, who i've become, what i've accomplished...
i hate who i'm not, who i failed to become, and what i didn't accomplish...
Should we love ourselves? yes... improving yourself starts with loving yourself... if you didn't love yourself, you wouldnt think you deserve the effort to become a better person... therefore, you will remain the same, without growing or developing...
this is on one hand Yasmine, on the other hand, if you don't love yourself you will not love the others because loving yourself means caring about yourself means caring about the others. If you love yourself you don't want to hurt yourself therefore you will not hurt the others in order not to get hurt, and so on...
From anothe point of view. I don't think that Mohaly meant "love yourself" literally translated from arabic, meaning selfishness. Yes you have to love yourself, accept yourself the way you are, because this is the only way to move forward. Make peace with your current self before you try to change. And I agree with Fati, you have to love yourself in order to love others because it shines from the inside. Yasmine, don't hate what you didn't accomplish because it kills the rest of your dreams, and don't hate the person you failed to become because you'll hate more the person you've became at last.
Gypo, Hating in the sense that I feel i'm not perfect, therefore there's still room to grow...
Not being pleased with who I am is the driving force to get there... I guess as long as i feel that way (which will probably be all my life), I will always thrive to improve myself...
Do u think that loving who u r makes a difference? Is being ambitious relevant to loving urself or not? ya3ni, if I want to be better, does this mean that I don't like what I have become for the time being?
