Scientifically Happiness is : "The state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy emotions experienced when in a state of well-being."
However, I do believe it is a very subjective issue. So if I asked you to define happiness, what would you say?

P.S. I personally believe it is the right balance between Soul, Body, Mind, & Heart.

Happiness is a state of mind that can never be reached unless you know what you want and fight for it. We can divide happiness into two kinds; first one, is concrete and related to success in studies, work, relationships, money...etc and the second one, is emotional and sensational related to success in achieving noble goals that serve the others (humanity).

ReplyDeleteI like all your comments but in my opinion, man has always known exactly how to live in misery, and it starts as soon as you're aware of the world around you. You constantly wish to find happiness and regret the past because it was happier!!!.
People will always blame their miseries on something else,"If I had more money, if I were 10 years younger, If only I had a smaller nose, ears, if I wasn't bald, if I could lose some weight,....and this can go endlessly.
So I reckon to find happiness you must first accept your self the way you are, find your peace of mind, an inner satisfaction and self acceptance, because happiness comes from the inside. Every second that you live is the happiest ever if you can reach that self satisfaction.
I'll tell you about the happiest person I've ever known, that was my grandmother. She had a calendar that she called the happy calendar, she always wrote down things that made her happy under the date and just wrote the year, so over the years she had a calendar full of happy events (el 3alam el ray2a beta3et zaman dy) and every year around christmas she bought a new one and started copying everything into her new calendar. She always kept that calendar and she had all her memories in it( She had it since she was a school girl in the early 30s), she died from brain cancer, she suffered from that illness for two years and she was conscious till the last moment. She always kept that happy calendar by her side even in the hospital and read from it all the time, one day I saw my mom coming home with that calendar in her hand and I knew straight away that my grand mother died, even before my mom told me, and every body said that she died with a smile on her face. I think that that lady had found happiness and satisfaction.
