I was thinking yesterday about who is the happiest, and what is the best job you can do in Egypt...hmm..think with me, which is the best??!!
- Working for a Multi-national....................till the last drop.
- Working for the private sector.................one man show.
- Working for the Government...................it at least covers a week expenses!
- Working for Yourself (self-employed).....welcome to taxes land.
- Working as a free lancer..........................idea is being installed in the Egyptian mind, give it 10 more years.
- Working virtually and from home...........toooo advanced for Egypt.
- Not-Working (unemployed)....................depends on daddy's status.
- Working as a beggar................................just choose the right people in the right place at the right time.

I believe everything has good sides and bad sides. If I had the choice I would be self employed. We can also say that it depends on each person's ambition, personality, skills, competences and goals.
ReplyDeleteI don't like to work for Government or to work as a Beggar.
Why work? u have to think about this when u r in the sauna :)
ReplyDeleteyou know that my dream is to work as a car driver... navigating bass don't want someone stopping me cause i'll go for extreme speed :)
Freelancing is catching up, but the problem is consistency, you can have 4 jobs at the same time, and then nothing for months.
ReplyDeletewhat about being an artist
ReplyDeletei am enjoying my life this way
no boundaries..no worries :)))))))
i agree yasmine, but it needs:
ReplyDelete- targeting the right people,
- having a clear goal (work and financial),
- and very good time management in order to deliver.
virtual work is the future with the increasing expenses of the overhead costs.

How about working for a none profit making organization that has an aim that you believe in and you could join to really make a difference. These ppl are paid OK, work to make a difference and need good skills to sustain that.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind this as long as it has nothing to do with politics specially in Egypt but something like microcredit like Muhammad Yunus did a Nobel prize model that i like so much and could relate to.
You are right Khateeb, I have experienced that myself, and it was a great feeling. But -sorry to say that- NGOs in Egypt aren't fun or satisfactory except may be few new ones like Nadet el Mahrousa who are trying to do things differently.
ReplyDeleteafter deep thinking, i found out that beggar makes more money~~~~hmmmm!!
